Job description

Who are we?

The Motley Fool is a purpose-driven financial services company on a mission to make the world smarter, happier, and richer. For 30 years, we’ve been helping people make better investment decisions through transparency, education, and a healthy dose of Foolish fun. We’re a fast-moving, collaborative team that values high-quality work, curiosity, and initiative. We care deeply about what we do, and we’re driven by the impact our work has on real people’s financial futures.

The Role

Once someone becomes a Motley Fool member, the product they use every day is what earns their renewal. Our vision moves us from stock picks to a full investing system and platform experience, this role owns building it.

As a Product Manager for Member Experience, you'll own the daily product surface — dashboard, portfolio tools, personalization, and mobile — built on top of the AI scoring and research engine our Intelligence team maintains.

What you'll do

  • With your cross-functional team, own member engagement as your core metric, the product-side driver of renewal.
  • Anchor the Member Platform team (web and app). You own its backlog and the quality of the member-facing product: dashboard, portfolio tools, community, and mobile app roadmap.
  • Own onboarding and activation — get new members to their first valuable action fast, so the value they signed up for lands in the first days, not weeks. This is where early renewal is won or lost.
  • Build personalized experiences on top of our AI scoring engine, the right research and insight for the right member, partnering with our Intelligence team, who provide the underlying AI/scoring APIs — keeping personalization on the right side of the line between helpful and regulated investment advice.
  • Design and ship features that turn a "read the email" habit into a daily or weekly product habit, across both the in-product and email experience.
  • Run a continuous member-research and usage-analytics practice, so decisions are grounded in behavior, not assumption, and feed what you learn into offering and packaging decisions with our commercial and domain experts.
  • Write specs precise enough for engineers and AI agents to build against, and bring a business case to our weekly product review. This is a decision-making forum, not a status update.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally on a consumer or subscription product with a strong engagement/retention focus
  • A committed active investor with real skin in the game — you understand our members because you are one
  • Experience building personalized or recommendation-driven product experiences is a strong plus
  • AI-native working style — comfortable prototyping fast and working alongside AI agents day to day
  • A strong product sense for daily-habit, engagement-driven experiences
  • Strong stakeholder management — you'll work across engineering, design, and the Intelligence team every week
  • Comfortable partnering with other product teams as well as marketing

Compensation:

Below is our target hourly rate. While we are budget conscious, we’re also eager to find the right person for this role, so if your target is outside of this range, please don’t hesitate to apply and we’d be happy to have a conversation. Hourly Pay Range $90—$100 USD
