Job description

About Us

Gumloop is the piece of AI infrastructure companies roll out to let everyone build agents securely. Let people who understand the problem build and share agents, manage their access to data, choose your AI models and host it all in your own cloud.

We're a small team building as fast as humanly possible. Gusto, Ramp, Shopify, Samsara, Instacart, and Opendoor are running agents on Gumloop across their company. We've raised over $70M gumloop.com/series-b from Benchmark, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, Nexus Ventures to scale and are looking for people who care as much as we do to join the team.

Here’s what life at Gumloop is like:

Role Overview

We're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to own and scale the systems that power Gumloop. You'll architect and roll out large scale infrastructure projects independently, help define our technical roadmap, and work directly with the founders to improve reliability, security, and performance.

Our current focus areas include infrastructure for agent orchestration, agent sandboxing, and hosted MCP services. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to solve challenging infrastructure problems at a company at the edge of AI.

What You'll Do

  • Architect, implement, and roll out large-scale infrastructure projects independently
  • Build and scale infrastructure supporting agent orchestration, agent sandboxing, and hosted MCP services
  • Help define the technical roadmap and speak directly with customers to inform priorities
  • Work directly with the founders to improve the reliability and scalability of our infrastructure
  • Design and maintain Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure on GCP
  • Ensure high availability, security, observability, and performance across our systems

What You Bring

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Redis, GCP, Terraform, Prometheus, and CI/CD
  • A track record of owning infrastructure at scale in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to own projects from architecture through production
  • Comfort working in a small team where ownership, autonomy, and speed are expected
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak with customers and collaborate directly with founders

Bonus

  • Experience at a high-growth startup scaling infrastructure rapidly
  • Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure and model serving
  • Experience with agent orchestration, sandboxing, MCP, or related distributed systems

BENEFITS

  • Highly competitive salary and meaningful equity
  • Generous paid time off: 24 days for SF employees and 20 days globally, use them as you need
  • $350/month wellness benefit to spend on gym, spa, equipment, or whatever keeps you at your best
  • 15 days of temporary remote work flexibility per year
  • 401k match up to 6%

Why work at Gumloop

  • Culture: Very small, world‑class team (≈40 people) building infrastructure used by some of the largest companies. Emphasis on impact and speed.
  • Interview process: Includes a paid work trial — candidates spend a day working on the product alongside founders to assess mutual fit.
  • Mission‑driven: “Help our users get promoted, help their company go AI‑native, and help everyone focus on work that matters.”
  • Work policy: Not explicitly stated as fully remote/hybrid; headquarters in San Francisco. Likely a hybrid or in‑office preference given the small team, but check during application.
  • Notable perks: Direct access to founders, fast decision‑making, and chance to shape the future of AI automation.
