Job description

Overview:

Guidepoint's Market Research Team is seeking a leader for its Survey Programming team, to help centralize, standardize, and grow a function dedicated to programming and coding questionnaires into web-based platforms, and conducting QA on programmed survey work. This position would be expected to work hours aligned with US-based colleagues on the East Coast.

This can be a hybrid position out of one of our offices in India (Mumbai, Pune,Gurugram) or remote.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee a team of 6 survey programmers of differing experience levels, setting standards for quality assurance and timely delivery of questionnaires programmed into Qualtrics
  • Coordinate with other quantitative survey operational team leads (fieldwork, data automation) and client service staff/project managers to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration
  • Serve as a strategic lead for survey programming within the market research organization, helping to design processes, systems, and best practice documentation for survey programming at Guidepoint
  • Train and mentor junior staff on best practices for survey programming and coding, including improving efficiency in translating spec documents to final survey designs, effectively testing routing and randomization for accuracy, and using JavaScript and other custom web design languages to create custom layouts and presentations to meet client needs
  • Serve as a senior voice for internal communication, stepping in to resolve project issues between team members and operational staff, provide leadership on kickoffs for complex or sustained engagements, and serve as an advisor on sales or internal kick-off calls where demonstrated programming experience is needed
  • Consult as needed with survey project teams on survey design, making best-practice recommendations on question type or structure that will best work within our systems and reduce respondent burden, and flagging any designs that may be particularly time-consuming or challenging to execute successfully
  • Serve as a direct project manager on large or urgent work as-needed
  • Other duties as required

What You Have:

  • 10+ years experience in programming market research surveys in Qualtrics (strongly preferred) or another online survey platform (Decipher/Forsta, Alchemer, Sawtooth, Versive)
  • 3+ years experience managing teams of programmers or other operations staff in market research to achieve targets on volume, timeliness, and quality
  • Ability to interface with internal leaders, helping to set strategy and training goals for survey programming, identify and resolve problems at a project and strategic level as they arise
  • Experience with JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, and CSS for developing custom question types or presentations, including training and upskilling staff on web design languages and tools
  • Experience QAing surveys and designing survey QA processes and workflows to ensure that work aligns to requested spec/design work
  • Ability to consult and train on best practices for survey design and experience, flagging if survey designs may have issues that make them difficult for end-respondents to answer

What we Offer:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Employee medical coverage
  • Central office location
  • Entrepreneurial environment, autonomy, and fast decisions
  • Casual work environment
