Job description
Vice President, Technology Investment Banking (M&A)
About Us
We are a fast-growing software-focused middle market investment bank that advises companies on M&A strategies and capital raises. Our team is rapidly growing, highly collaborative, and driven by a commitment to excellence and results.
The Role
As a Vice President, you will be a key driver of client engagements—leading deal execution, managing teams, and working directly with founders, investors, and senior executives. This is a hands-on role where you will oversee the full lifecycle of transactions, from client engagement through closing, while mentoring Associates and Analysts and shaping the firm’s growth.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Transactions: Partner with senior leaders to take ownership of M&A and capital-raising processes, managing all aspects of execution including diligence, modeling, valuation, and negotiations.
- Develop Clients: Build and nurture relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, and strategic acquirers to drive new business opportunities.
- Guide the Team: Supervise and mentor junior team members, ensuring top-quality work product and professional development.
- Shape Strategy: Partner with senior leadership on pitch strategy, market positioning, and client presentations.
- Deliver Excellence: Ensure materials, models, and communications are accurate, insightful, and presentation-ready.
What We’re Looking For
- 4–6+ years of investment banking or transaction advisory experience
- Proven ability to manage clients, lead teams, and manage multiple workstreams under tight timelines
- Strong technical skills, including financial modeling, valuation, and deal structuring
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-first mindset
Why work at Kaizen Equity Partners
- Culture highlights: Candid, creative, and straightforward advisory style. Team described as "dealmakers" who take pride in disciplined execution and deep expertise.
- Remote/hybrid/office policy: In-office requirement. All employees work from a physical office (Scottsdale, AZ), as per Built In.
- Notable perks or engineering culture: Not a tech engineering firm — it’s a professional services environment focused on deal execution. Employees gain exposure to high-stakes M&A transactions, mentorship from experienced bankers, and a tight-knit team of 20 people. Recent job postings emphasize mentorship and collaboration.
