Job description

We are looking for an experienced AS400 / COBOL Life/Asia Developer to support application development, system enhancements, implementation, and production support activities within the insurance domain. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Life/Asia, COBOL development, and AS400 environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and implement solutions within the Life/Asia application.
  • Perform coding, unit testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and production support activities.
  • Support day-end, month-end, and ad-hoc batch processing activities.
  • Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Deliver system enhancements, defect fixes, and project initiatives within agreed timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with SDLC, change management, security, and governance processes.
  • Participate in code reviews, version control, and quality assurance activities.
  • Work closely with business users, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Life/Asia development and implementation experience.
  • Strong experience in COBOL development and AS400/iSeries environment.
  • Experience in Life/Asia coding, customization, system enhancements, and production support.
  • Strong knowledge of JCL, batch processing, and job scheduling.
  • Experience in system design, coding, unit testing, troubleshooting, and deployment activities.
  • Good understanding of SDLC, change management, and release management processes.
  • Ability to support critical production issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Experience working with version control, code reviews, application security, and performance optimization.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
