Job description
We are looking for an experienced AS400 / COBOL Life/Asia Developer to support application development, system enhancements, implementation, and production support activities within the insurance domain. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Life/Asia, COBOL development, and AS400 environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and implement solutions within the Life/Asia application.
- Perform coding, unit testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and production support activities.
- Support day-end, month-end, and ad-hoc batch processing activities.
- Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Deliver system enhancements, defect fixes, and project initiatives within agreed timelines.
- Ensure compliance with SDLC, change management, security, and governance processes.
- Participate in code reviews, version control, and quality assurance activities.
- Work closely with business users, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on Life/Asia development and implementation experience.
- Strong experience in COBOL development and AS400/iSeries environment.
- Experience in Life/Asia coding, customization, system enhancements, and production support.
- Strong knowledge of JCL, batch processing, and job scheduling.
- Experience in system design, coding, unit testing, troubleshooting, and deployment activities.
- Good understanding of SDLC, change management, and release management processes.
- Ability to support critical production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Experience working with version control, code reviews, application security, and performance optimization.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
