Job description

what we're looking for

We're looking for what Keith Rabois calls a "barrel." He says, "a definition of a barrel is someone who can take an idea from inception, all the way to shipping, and bring people along with them." We have 5-10 different projects in the pipeline awaiting a cambrian explosion pending additional engineering bandwidth. We're looking for a high performing individual with any of the following skills or experiences

  • smart contract engineering of a high complexity/innovative protocol
  • innovative financial mechanism design
  • protocol engineering
  • building products/uxs that many people love
  • growing community excitement We're a dynamic team so there is not a concrete role/past experience we are looking for. At Thunderhead, we electrify nascent blockchain ecosystems, so we want people that care about creating value for others, can create their own innovative ideas, and execute at a high level without much supervision.

about us

The team is young, lean and small.

  • Addison (CEO, 19). Freshman at MIT. Founded Thunderhead at 16
  • Pierre (SWE, 14). Freshman in high school. Built an $18m TVL LST at 12 yrs of age.
  • Damon (Legal/Finance/BD, 50). Serial entreprenuer, exited a Medtech company 2 yrs ago
  • Tom (Product Engineer, 32) Manages all user facing products.
  • Ofek (Devops Lead, 22). Manages all our performant systems and validators We've managed $70m of staked assets, found a $7m vulnerability in Curve, and lead a protocol contribution that saved Pocket Network $50m, among many other things. We're very excited about what we're working on, so if any of this interests you, please apply and join the fun!

  • Join a small (6-person) team with outsized impact in Web3
  • Work on cutting-edge blockchain infrastructure and protocol-level problems
  • Opportunity to build public goods used by thousands of customers worldwide
  • Culture appears remote-friendly and family-inclusive, with a "low average age" and high-powered engineering team
