**This is a hybrid position that requires 2 days per week in office at our Chicago location**
The mission of a Syndigo Business Development Executive, Category Management is to identify, develop, and cultivate strategic relationships that evolve into long-term partnerships with Syndigo. In this role, you will engage manufacturers, retailers, and suppliers across the retail industry, helping them understand how Syndigo's In-Store solutions drive operational excellence and profitable growth. You will articulate the value of Syndigo's expertise in retail execution, space planning, planogram optimization, merchandising, and category management, demonstrating how leading retailers and brands leverage our solutions to improve shelf performance, enhance the shopper experience, and maximize results at the point of sale. Through a consultative approach, you will uncover client challenges and position Syndigo as a trusted partner in transforming in-store operations and accelerating retail success.
HOW WE’LL BE WINNING TOGETHER DAY TO DAY
- Prospecting and building new business opportunities within assigned territory
- Ability to understand prospect needs and objectives then effectively communicate Syndigo’s value proposition to solve their unique challenges
- Utilize a consultative sales approach to close opportunities with senior level executives and forecast weekly when deals will be closed won
- Collaborate with operations as needed to ensure appropriate positioning and seamless delivery of solutions/services
- Initiate introductory meetings through networking, cold call, email, and other tools in standard sales tech stack to help bolster pipeline generated near top of funnel
- Coordinate and schedule online or onsite meetings with key decision makers
- Be comfortable demonstrating SaaS based platform and communicating critical capabilities to differentiate our solutions
- Negotiate and participate in pricing strategy and proposal development to drive conversion
- Negotiate contract terms within the acceptable guidelines provided by commercial leadership
- Develop prospect account strategy across owned accounts in Salesforce and consistently execute on plan to penetrate through frequent outbound engagement
- Research key companies that fit ideal customer profiles and assemble creative outbound messaging
- Own and manage active pipeline in Salesforce.com and forecast accurately in Clari on a weekly cadence
- Achieve weekly activity KPI’s with clear goals set in Salesloft/Salesforce for prospect accounts and contacts targeted in a given week
WE SHOULD TALK IF THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOU
- 3+ years in a quota carrying sales role with consistent track record of success against quota attainment
- Retail Supply Chain Integrations or Category Management experience
- Extreme passion for hunting and closing net new logos
- Deep familiarity with Salesforce, Salesloft and ZoomInfo
- ValueSelling certified or proven mastery of other sales methodology
- Curiosity and interest in the retail or eCommerce vertical is a plus
- Proven ability to qualify prospects and open opportunities in a primarily outbound environment

Your individual compensation within the budgeted salary range is determined based on your skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
Budgeted Salary Range (not including eligible commission): $100,000—$140,000 USD
Commission: $80,000—$80,000 USD
