Why this role matters
Every satellite we build depends on the right components arriving on time, in the right quantity and quality. As our Electronics Buyer, you turn the production plan into purchase orders and keep material flowing to our EMS partners and production lines, so builds start on time and shortages are caught before they stop the line. You'll work daily with suppliers, Planning, Production, Engineering and Quality, and play a key part in scaling satellite production.
Who We Are
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth. ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system. ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defense and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future. Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
Your day-to-day responsibilities
- Review and release planned orders from ERP/MRP for PCBs, PCBAs, electronic components and related services (EMS assembly, testing, coating) in line with the production plan
- Secure order confirmations and manage confirmed dates against need dates; expedite, pull in or push out orders as demand changes
- Monitor open orders and shortages, flag risks to builds early, and drive recovery with suppliers and the Team Lead
- Work with engineering teams where needed to resolve manufacturing issues and shortages, including finding alternative parts and sources for engineering approval
- Coordinate material for EMS partners: kit readiness, turnkey and consigned material, and on-time delivery of free-issue components
- Place spot buys through approved distributors when shortages occur, within approved supplier and quality rules
- Keep purchasing data accurate in ERP: prices, lead times, MOQs, packaging (reels, trays), supplier part numbers and approved sources
- Handle PO changes, goods receipt issues, invoice mismatches and returns with Finance, Logistics and Quality
- Process supplier PCN and end-of-life notices and route them to the Team Lead and Engineering
- Prepare RFQs for repeat buys and price updates, and support the Team Lead and specialists with quotes and supplier data
- Report open orders, on-time delivery, shortages and spend for category and management reviews

- Experience expediting and resolving shortages with distributors and manufacturers in a production environment
- Able to read a BOM and match manufacturer part numbers to supplier offers
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail across many orders and suppliers in parallel
- Clear communicator with suppliers, Planning, Production and Quality; escalates early
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment with an international supplier base
