Job description
ABOUT PRIMER
Primer is a growing network of K–8 schools restoring the timeless foundations of American education. Inspired by the original teaching primers that shaped a nation of readers, thinkers, and builders, our schools begin with what has always worked, and build for what lies ahead. Close-knit learning environments. Skilled educators. A culture that takes kids seriously as learners and leaders.
Primers shaped the first 200 years of American children. Primer will ready them for the next.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Campus Coordinator ensures the campus runs smoothly every day. You are a flexible, steady presence who fills in wherever needed to keep students safe and the day on track. You support operations, family experience, safety, and logistics so Primer Leaders and Studio Guides can focus on teaching. You manage arrival, attendance, lunch, recess, facilities needs, and dismissal while keeping the campus organized, safe, and welcoming. You are the operational heartbeat of the school and a daily partner to the Campus Leader.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help hosting tours in coordination with Primer Headquarters
- Greet families and support daily arrival routines
- Take attendance and manage morning logistics
- Support classrooms and Studio Guides with operational needs
- Monitor hallways, bathrooms, recess, and shared spaces for safety
- Assist with setup, supplies, copies, and materials
- Communicate daily updates and concerns to the Campus Leader
- Maintain campus cleanliness and organization throughout the day
- Support lunch, recess, and transitions
- Manage dismissal routines and verify student pickup
- Flag facilities needs and follow safety procedures
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Ideally, 2+ years of related experience
- Warm, welcoming presence with families and students
- Highly reliable, organized, and consistent
- Flexible and able to support wherever needed
- Strong communicator who notices details
- Calm under pressure and able to multitask
- Proactive—solves problems before they escalate
WHY THIS ROLE MAY NOT BE A FIT
- You prefer remote or independent work
- You avoid routine or hands-on operational tasks
- You struggle managing multiple priorities in real time
- You need step-by-step instruction instead of taking initiative
- You are uncomfortable with supervision duties (arrival, recess, dismissal)
Primer is a mission-first company. We believe our mission is the highest-leverage way we can create positive change. In service of that, we keep work centered on mission execution and avoid social or political activism at work that’s unrelated to the mission. If that energizes you, we’d love to see you apply.
Why work at Primer

- Tight-knit teams: Small campuses and a unified purpose create a supportive, collaborative atmosphere.
- Locations: Physical campuses in multiple states (FL, AL, AZ, TX); corporate/remote roles may also be available (job postings list “Pick your location”).
- Notable perks: Not detailed, but emphasis on “the best work of your life” and spending time on the hardest problems in education.
