Job description
About ZorroRX
ZorroRX was founded by physicians and patients working together to lower specialty drug spend, helping patients and their employers afford the life-saving medications they need. Through our 48-state pharmacy marketplace, we deliver significant savings on the same brand-name medications the doctor ordered. We partner directly with non-profit hospitals to give our patients dedicated pharmacist support, while driving dollars back to support the nation’s safety net.
About the Role
You’re the person whose notes other people photocopy. Your inbox is at zero, or you have a system for why it isn’t. You’ve rebuilt a messy spreadsheet just because it bothered you, and you can’t let a loose end stay loose.
We need that energy. Patients are counting on getting their medications, and there are a lot of moving pieces between a prescription and a delivered fill: prior authorizations, pharmacies, providers, insurance, timing. Most people find that chaos stressful. You find it satisfying to tame.
Clinical training is welcome but not required. We’d rather teach someone sharp, meticulous and genuinely driven to help people than hire around a credential.
What You’ll Actually Do
You’ll own the patient journey from start to finish. You’ll triage what’s urgent, chase down records, call and fax and email providers and pharmacies, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. When something is about to go wrong, you’ll see it first. When something does go wrong, you’ll fix it and then build the process so it doesn’t happen again.
Some days that means tracking down a missing fax at 4:55 PM. Other days it means redesigning how a whole workflow runs.
You’ll love this if you:
- Feel genuine satisfaction from a perfectly organized tracker or a closed-out to-do list
- Notice the typo, the wrong date, the missing signature, every time
- Can juggle fifteen open threads and know exactly where each one stands
- Close the loop, always, without being asked
- Would rather build a better system than work around a bad one
Where it goes We’re growing very fast, and this role grows with it. High performers will be on track to take over major parts of clinical operations within six months, including hiring and building their own team. You’ll see the whole board, not one corner of it, and you’ll be trusted to fix real things from day one. A patient getting their medication is never an abstraction here.
Who You Are
- A fast learner who absorbs unfamiliar material, technical and otherwise, and retains it
- Detail oriented and meticulous in all you do
- Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Comfortable documenting within an EHR and/or pharmacy management system
- Experience communicating within a care team
- Experience with medical liaison, insurance verification, and prior authorization systems
Key Traits
- Detail-oriented
- Self-motivated
- Clear communicator
- Coachable and open to constructive criticism
- Creative, inventive, and able to anticipate issues
- MUST have a desire to continually learn and broaden your medical knowledge, not afraid to say “I am not sure, but let me look into that and get back to you”
What We Offer
- Competitive salary: Based on experience and location, with regular compensation reviews
- Equity: Stocks options so you share in the company’s long-term success
- Health coverage for you and your dependents
- Time off and flexibility: This is a fully remote position, with generous PTO
Why work at ZorroRX
- Culture: Mission-driven startup aiming to fix a broken system; team members bring firsthand frustration with healthcare complexity. Small, collaborative team (currently ~5 people).
