Job description
Commerce Night’s Marketing Associates will support the VP Marketing in ensuring transparent and engaging promotion of information related to Commerce Night. They will assist in producing graphics and video content.
Time Commitment
- First semester: 6-8 hours/week
- Second semester (prior to Commerce Night): 10-12 hours/week
Term of Employment October 2026 - March 2027
Main Responsibilities
- Assist Commerce Night’s VP Visual Media with the following:
- Owning the entire production process for long-form video content, from brainstorming video concepts to final edit review
- Creating content that resonates with audiences through strong creative vision, empathy, and emotional storytelling
- Executing video campaigns and providing additional filming support
- Associates are also expected to:
- Attend all Commerce Night GMs and department meetings
- Respond to all Slack communications within 24 hours
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and meet set internal deadlines
- Provide ideas and support for the overall vision and planning of the Commerce Night gala
- Assist with the overall planning and execution of the Group & Individual Awards Information Session and the Awards Night Gala alongside the team
- Participate in Commerce Night boothing activities to promote awards

- Creative and strong storyteller
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent time management
- Intrinsically motivated
- Journalism/interview experience will be considered an asset
- Sauder community connections will be considered an asset
Anticipated Learning Outcomes
- Experience in supporting marketing campaigns for a large-scale event that affects 400+ attendees
- Develop hands-on experience in video production and visual storytelling
- Strengthen creative and technical media skills
- The chance to get involved in the CUS by collaborating with professors, faculty, and student leaders
