Job description

About Numeral: At Numeral, we're building the future of tax by bringing together AI agents, human expertise, and global compliance. We’re the largest and fastest-growing AI-native tax solution. Today, we serve more than 3,500 global businesses, including companies like Supabase, Eight Sleep, and Graza. We’ve grown quickly across our core e-commerce and software segments, more than tripled our revenue every year, and expanded into new industries, including manufacturing, distribution, and wholesale. Numeral has raised over $157M from Insight Partners, Salesforce Ventures, Benchmark, Mayfield, Y Combinator, and many others.

About the role: Numeral is hiring Customer Success Managers to join our founding Customer Success team. You'll own relationships with some of our highest-value clients and help drive retention and growth. This is a front-line role with real ownership: part trusted advisor, part problem-solver, part builder. You'll run your own portfolio of strategic accounts like a business, work directly with finance and tax leaders, and help write the playbook the rest of the team will scale on.

What you'll do:

  • Own a portfolio of strategic accounts: Be the go-to partner for our high-value clients. Build trusted relationships and make sure each account gets measurable value from Numeral's platform and services.
  • Deliver a proactive client experience: Get ahead of issues before they become problems. Run regular check-ins, business reviews, and account plans that keep clients engaged and successful.
  • Drive retention and growth: Own client health, renewals, and churn across your accounts. Spot expansion opportunities and partner with Sales to close.
  • Be the voice of the customer: Share client feedback with Product, Engineering, Tax Operations, and GTM to influence the roadmap and improve the end-to-end experience.
  • Help build the playbook: Work with the CS Lead to test and refine health scoring, handoffs from Onboarding, and success playbooks.
  • Work smarter with automation: Use AI to find automation opportunities so you can spend more time being strategic with clients.

What you'll bring:

  • Client-facing experience: You've worked in customer success, account management, consulting, or another client-facing role, ideally owning a large portfolio of accounts.
  • High ownership: You treat your accounts like your own business. You follow through, take initiative, and don't wait to be told what to do.
  • Consultative problem-solver: You can dig into a client's business, find what's getting in the way, and drive to a solution.
  • Commercial instincts: You're comfortable talking about value, renewals, and expansion, and you know how customer health connects to revenue.
  • Organized and prioritized: You can juggle many accounts at once and know where to focus your time for the biggest impact.
  • Strong communicator: You build credibility with finance and executive stakeholders and work well with technical and operational teams.
  • AI Fluency: You're excited to use AI and automation to work more efficiently.

Nice to haves:

  • Management consulting or MBA background
  • Experience in fintech, SaaS, financial infrastructure, tax, compliance, or finance workflows
  • High-growth startup environments (Series A–C+)
  • Experience on an early or newly formed CS team

Location:

  • This role is hybrid (must be based in Salt Lake City)

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary and equity - you'll share directly in the company's success
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Wellness perks like Headspace and the Peloton One App
  • 401(k) to help you build long-term financial security
  • Lunch and snacks when you're in the office
  • Regular team offsites and company events as we grow
  • A culture built on ownership - your work matters and people will see it!

Why work at Numeral

  • Culture: "Scrappy, gets stuff done, moves the ball forward" – built by former operators and engineers from Stripe, Notion, and Airbnb.
  • Work policy: Hybrid – HQ in San Francisco with remote options within the US (as noted on Y Combinator jobs).
  • Benefits: Competitive salary, meaningful equity (stock options), comprehensive health/wellness perks, top-of-the-line equipment.
  • Growth potential: One of the fastest-growing Y Combinator companies; employees get to shape a platform in a massive, underserved market.
  • Team: Small but rapidly growing (107 employees) with a flat structure and direct access to founders.
