Job description

#poweringyouringenuity  🚀

Our mission is to bridge top-level technology companies with engineering talent from across the globe. With presence in LATAM, USA and Europe, we empower companies by providing remote engineering teams of all levels tailored to the needs of each project.

Our teams are passionate about technology and thrive on challenges. We value technical expertise and a willingness to learn new things. Each development is tailored to the needs of each project, so being passionate about learning and using new languages, tools, and frameworks is part of our DNA. Our software engineering teams focus on best coding practices to ensure readability, reusability, and scalability of our systems' designs and developments.

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team at Ekumen. In this role, you'll help maintain and enhance a critical data ingestion pipeline that supports key decision-making processes and enables our teams to work with reliable, high-quality data.

You'll collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth data flow, improving observability, and continuously finding ways to make things work better.

What you’ll do

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize a data ingestion pipeline built with Java and Python.
  • Implement new features and improvements that keep our systems efficient and scalable.
  • Write clean, testable, and well-documented code.
  • Participate in code reviews and share ideas that raise the bar for our engineering practices.
  • Stay curious and up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience of +4 years as a Data Engineer.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and Python.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and proactive attitude.
  • Strong English communication skills (B2/C1 level). You'll often interact 1:1 with native speakers.

It'd be great if you also have

  • Experience with Apache Beam or Apache Spark.
  • Knowledge of observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Join us to be part of a dynamic community where your skills and contributions truly matter!
