Why this role matters:

As an EHS Specialist, you will support the implementation and continuous improvement of our Environment, Health & Safety programs across our site in Valencia. You’ll play a hands-on role in keeping our people safe, our operations compliant, and our safety culture strong. Operating as a standalone position within the Valencia facility, you will have strong cooperation with local leadership and global EHS management.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure facility compliance with local, national, and international EHS regulations
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, hazard identifications, and risk assessments in accordance with global practices
• Maintain and update local EHS policies, procedures, and standards
• Manage permits, licenses, and regulatory reporting requirements

Incident Management

• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and follow-up on corrective/preventive actions
• Maintain accurate records of near-misses, incidents, injuries, and environmental events
• Report EHS metrics and KPIs to management on a regular basis

Training & Engagement

• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels
• Coach supervisors and team leaders on EHS responsibilities and best practices
• Represent Valencia in ICEYE's Global OHS Network
• Drive local safety culture initiatives

Environmental Management

• Monitor and manage waste, emissions, water, and energy consumption
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure EHS requirements are met on site
• Support environmental permit compliance and audits

Emergency Preparedness

• Maintain and test emergency response plans and procedures
• Coordinate fire drills, evacuation exercises, and first aid/emergency response teams

Must haves:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field
• 3–5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Solid working knowledge of Spanish EHS legislation and regulatory frameworks
• Proficient in EHS management systems (ISO 45001 and ISO 14001) and data reporting tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (experience in 5-Why, fishbone, or other RCA methodologies)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Nice to haves:

• Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience working with contractors and managing permit-to-work systems
