About the Infrastructure Engineering team:

You will lead a small team focused on supporting and scaling our existing platform. We've gone from zero to hundreds of environments, we need your help to go from hundreds to thousands. We build on top of AWS so we expect experience with this provider or a demonstrated ability to quickly get up to speed with a new cloud provider. Some projects we are working on are:

  • ECS scaling and optimization across multi cluster environments.
  • Managing our Self-Hosted CI/CD Pipelines at scale. We launch thousands of workers per day.
  • Owning the tooling and workflows for Narmi's ephemeral environments.
  • Developing the next version of Narmi's Observability platform.
  • Building towards a self-serving platform for Narmi's engineering organization.

What you'll do:

  • Lead, manage, and grow a team of infrastructure engineers, including hiring and cultivating talent.
  • Set technical direction and priorities for the team's roadmap in partnership with engineering leadership.
  • Plan, design, implement and iterate on Narmi's AWS infrastructure.
  • Maintain and improve our cloud networking architecture.
  • Collaborate with the business and other engineering teams to support new customers and integrations.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing regular feedback and supporting their career growth.
  • Review code and drive testing practices across the team.
  • Participate in Narmi's engineering on-call rotation.

What you'll bring:

  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience in Infra/DevOps/SRE roles, including experience leading or managing engineers.
  • Demonstrable skill in designing large scale system architectures.
  • A good understanding of networking in an AWS environment.
  • Security-centric approach.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash, with a solid understanding of Linux.
  • Ability to diagnose technical problems, debug code, and automate routine tasks.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • A track record of building and developing high-performing technical teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS (or higher, e.g., MS, or PhD) in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience.
  • Working experience with some of the following: AWS, Terraform, Postgres, Linux.

The expected annual base salary for this role is $210,000-$237,000. Base salary is only part of your total compensation. In addition to base salary, you will receive an equity option grant, and are eligible for performance-based cash and equity bonuses. Compensation included in an offer will be commensurate with the candidate's skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation ranges for candidates located outside of New York City may differ. You will also receive a full benefits package.
