Finance Manager, FP&A at Qumulo (Seattle, WA)
Qumulo· Seattle, WA·
Role details
Job description
Qumulo’s cloud data platform manages exabytes of the world’s most demanding data, unifying files, objects, and every workload across edge, core, and cloud. Customers buy it on subscription or by consumption: deployed in Cloud Infrastructure, as a managed service , through cloud marketplaces, or in the data center.
About the role
As our Finance Manager, FP&A, you’ll own the models leadership plans the business with. That means the top line across subscription and consumption contracts, the quarterly cash flow forecast, and the operating plan in Workday Adaptive Planning. You’ll report to our Director of Finance, build the quarterly executive deck, and prepare reporting that goes to the board and investors. The finance team is small, so you’ll see the whole function: cash, planning, commissions, and board reporting. If you’ve been modeling one product line at a large cloud company, this is the full model, with your name on it. Qumulo announced GAAP and non-GAAP profitability in March 2025, and you’ll plan for a business balancing growth with that discipline. The role can grow into FP&A leadership or a lead role in cloud and consumption finance. It’s on-site at our downtown Seattle office four to five days a week.
What you’ll do
- Own the top-line model across subscription and consumption contracts: ACV, bookings, billings, ARR, and revenue
- Show leadership what changes when contract length, payment terms, pricing, or usage moves
- Build and run the quarterly cash flow forecast, tying deal terms and billing schedules to the balance sheet
- Produce the quarterly executive deck and the board and investor reporting
- Run operating expenses and forecasts in Workday Adaptive Planning
- Be the finance partner for other departments with monthly plan-vs-actual reviews alongside their leaders
- Lead parts of annual planning and the rolling forecast
- Support investor diligence and related work
- Automate repetitive work in Adaptive, Excel, SQL, Python, or with AI tools
About you
- You have 5+ years in FP&A or corporate finance, with at least two at a SaaS, cloud, or consumption-based business.
- You’ve modeled ARR, NRR, GRR, bookings, and billings yourself. You know how revenue recognition differs between a subscription contract and a consumption one.
- You’ve owned a forecast or board-level deliverable end to end and defended it to a CFO or executive team.
- You build operating plans and department budgets from a clear view of how the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement connect.
- You build your own scenario models and variance frameworks in Excel.
- You can work on-site at our downtown Seattle office four to five days a week.
- Bonus if you’ve worked in Workday Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Pigment, or similar.
- Bonus if you script in Python, R, or SQL, or use AI tools for real analytical work.
Compensation
The annual base pay range for this role is USD $110,000 - $150,000 plus benefits and pre-IPO stock options. Individual pay depends on factors including level, relevant experience, and skills.
Benefits & Perks
- Pre-IPO stock options
- Flexible time-off policy
- HSA and PPO health insurance options
- Dental and Vision insurance
- 401(k) plan
- Choice of an ORCA card or parking subsidy
