Job description

We are building a new modern trust company.

Trusts hold trillions of dollars and are one of the main ways wealth moves between generations. A trust company acts as a trustee for trusts, essentially a legal bridge between generations by holding assets and executing the specific wishes of a family. Sava is building a new full-stack, chartered trust company. Not just software for banks and lawyers, but the actual regulated entity.

We have raised a $10M seed round from Y Combinator, Gradient Ventures, Max Mullen (Instacart founder), SV Angel and other great investors.

What you will do

You will design and build the core systems of the company.

You will:

  • Build and ship product surfaces that make complex financial and legal structures understandable
  • Develop high-quality interfaces using React and TypeScript
  • Build agent-driven workflows for compliance, document generation, and asset movement
  • Integrate with custodians, banks, and legacy financial systems
  • And much more.

You will be one of the first engineers. The architecture you build will shape the company for years.

Who we are looking for

You are someone who likes hard problems that matter.

You probably:

  • Have been a founder, early engineer, or technical lead at a strong startup
  • Care deeply about systems, data integrity, and correctness
  • Are comfortable owning big pieces of a product with little structure
  • Understand modern AI tooling and how to use it for both software development and real automation
  • Have good product and UI taste and can be trusted to make clear, competent interface decisions

You do not need prior finance experience.

The team

You will work in person in NYC with the founders:

  • Nimit Maru, 2x YC founder, previously started and sold two companies to public companies, most recently Fullstack Academy
  • Rush Sadiwala, experienced serial founder with deep financial and operational experience

We are building a small, high-caliber team. The first engineers define the technical culture of a company. This role is that.

If you want to build something foundational, difficult, and important, you should talk to us.

Why work at Sava

  • Compensation: Above-market salaries benchmarked against international standards, not local averages.
  • Growth investment: Annual learning budget for conferences, certifications, and courses; regular internal tech talks and access to AI skill development programs.
  • Flexible work: Hybrid setup with offices in Belgrade (Dorcol) and Novi Sad; employees choose where they do their best work.
  • Engineering culture: Work directly with U.S. product teams on real products used by thousands; code ships to production. Emphasis on ownership — engineers are expected to ask the right questions, flag risks early, and ship code they would put their name on.
  • Work environment caveat: LinkedIn employer rating is 2.4/5 (9 reviews), with low scores for compensation (2.4), culture (2.4), and career growth (2.3). This conflicts with the company’s own claims of high satisfaction and retention; job seekers should weigh both signals.
