What You’ll Do
- Design and build the backend systems and data models that power Fable's product
- Own features end-to-end, including frontend work when needed
- Collaborate with design and product to turn ideas into customer-ready experiences
- Engage with early users, learn from feedback, and iterate quickly
- Contribute to a strong engineering culture through code reviews, shared ownership, and mentorship
- Ship production-grade code quickly and thoughtfully — balancing quality and speed
Who You Are
- 3–5 years of experience building and shipping fullstack or backend-heavy applications
- Strong fluency with Django (or similar frameworks) and backend fundamentals — API design, data modeling, persistence, and hands-on Postgres experience (schema design, query performance)
- Experience building frontend interfaces — ideally with React or Next.js
- Familiar with TypeScript and GraphQL (or excited to grow into them)
- Proven ability to take features from concept to production independently
- Customer-obsessed — you care that your work solves real problems for real users
- Thoughtful about system design and data integrity, and ask good product questions
- Thrive in fast-paced, high-ownership environments
- Continuously raise the bar — for yourself, your peers, and the product
