Job description

HyperHug is an international game development studio specializing in the shooter genre. Our main office is based in Cyprus, but our talented team works remotely from around the world. We’re developing Oxide: Survival Island, an immersive multiplayer survival shooter for mobile platforms, and we’re always looking for motivated individuals who want to grow with us, contribute their creativity, and help shape the future of our games.

We are seeking an experienced Head of QA to own and drive the quality strategy for our flagship game.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Own and drive the game’s overall quality strategy across the entire development lifecycle.
  • Build and scale end-to-end QA processes for a rapidly growing live game, covering manual testing, test automation, performance, and release quality.
  • Lead and develop the QA team, ensuring clear ownership, effective collaboration, and alignment with product goals.
  • Proactively identify systemic quality risks and drive cross-functional improvements together with Development and Product teams.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

  • 7+ years of experience in game QA including strong experience as a Head of QA.
  • Strong experience building and scaling QA processes for a rapidly growing live game with a large player base.
  • Strong understanding of all major QA areas: manual testing, test automation, performance testing, and release quality.
  • Experience defining and implementing a product-level QA strategy.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience building, mentoring, and developing QA teams.
  • Experience with large-scale mobile Unity games would be a big plus (especially multiplayer shooters, survival games, or sandbox games).
  • English - B1+ level, Russian - C1 level.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Relocation support to Cyprus (Limassol), including visa and housing assistance (this is an on-site position).
  • Competitive salary.
  • Monthly lunch allowances via Wolt.
  • Health benefits - comprehensive medical insurance and SportBenefit membership.
  • Car rental.
  • Greek lessons.
  • School fee contribution for children.
  • A passionate and supportive team that values creativity and ownership.
  • Opportunities for professional growth.
  • A culture built on initiative, transparency, and collaboration.

Why work at HyperHug

  • Culture: Values unapologetic excellence, relentless learning, and a player-first mindset. The team is small but ambitious, with a "glamorous or grinding, work gets done either way" attitude.
  • Remote/Hybrid: Several roles are listed as "Remote" (e.g., Senior Game Designer) with a hub in Limassol, Cyprus; the company operates across multiple time zones.
  • Notable perks: Opportunity to work on a game played by millions, with a tight-knit team that plays the game themselves. The careers page invites candidates to "dare to join" and encourages unsolicited applications.
  • Engineering culture: Tech stack includes Unity, C#, .NET, Firebase, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Redis, GitLab, Figma, and more. Emphasis on DevOps, anti-cheat, and live operations.
