Bring Brands to Life: Design for ZURU’s Innovative Baby Category!

About ZURU

ZURU is on a mission to disrupt across industries, challenge the status quo and catalyst change through radical innovation and automation advances. This is in play in different pillars of the company: ZURU Toys are re-imagining what it means to play; ZURU Tech is shaping a better future by leading the next building revolution; ZURU Edge is pioneering new generation FMCG brands to better serve modern consumers.

Founded in 2003 by EY Entrepreneur of the Year and World Entrepreneur Hall of Fame brothers Nick and Mat Mowbray, ZURU has quickly grown to a team of over 5000 direct and indirect members across more than 30 international locations.

One of the largest toy companies in the world, globally recognised and award-winning brands include Bunch O Balloons, Mini Brands, XSHOT, Rainbocorns and Smashers. Our global FMCG brands include MONDAY Haircare, Rascals, NOOD, BONKERS, Gumi Yum Surprise, and more! For more information, visit www.zuru.com.

Position Overview The Intermediate Designer creates design and content for ZURU Edge's Baby Vertical brands across digital, print and in-store touchpoints. The role covers marketing collateral, social and digital assets, and motion content, working to each brand's visual identity and guidelines. Projects run from concept to completion under the guidance of the Baby Design Lead and brand leads.

Position Impact In the first 3-6 months, the Intermediate Designer will be delivering briefs across the Baby Vertical brands independently - social and digital assets, POS and print collateral - to brand guidelines and technical specification, with minimal rework. By 12+ months, they will lead larger projects from concept to completion, have lifted the consistency of the visual language across brand touchpoints, and be producing motion and animated content that extends the team's output beyond static design.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design & Content Creation: Create best-in-class design and content across digital, print, and in-store touchpoints, aligned with each Baby Vertical brand's visual identity, project objectives, and brand guidelines.
  • Marketing Collateral: Design influencer boxes, POS, in-store displays, and print materials, ensuring all artwork meets technical specifications and brand guidelines.
  • Digital & Social Assets: Develop social tiles, stories, eDMs, website modules, and digital ads, with motion graphics and animated content as a strong asset.
  • Project Ownership: Take projects from concept to completion, making confident design decisions under guidance, and flagging scope or brand risk to the Design Lead early.
  • Visual Consistency & Asset Management: Help shape and maintain a consistent visual language across all brand touchpoints, keep design files and assets organised, and handle basic colour correction and grading for images and video.
  • Collaboration: Work with senior designers, product managers, marketers, and the Design Project Manager to deliver strong design solutions, contribute to creative brainstorms, and support senior designers on larger projects.
  • Craft Standards & Development: Set a best-practice example for junior designers in file management and process, stay current on design trends and platform formats, build skills in 3D animation, motion graphics and emerging tools, and share learnings in internal sessions.

Skills & Experience

  • 4-7 years' industry experience in a similar graphic design role
  • Relevant qualification in Graphic Design from a tertiary-level institute or similar
  • Strong proficiency across Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma
  • Experience in motion graphics, animation, and video editing; illustration skills an added advantage
  • Demonstrated visual design craft across typography, colour, layout, and detail, with a portfolio covering both digital and print
