Job description

FTMO Group is looking for a Junior Lawyer to join our global legal and compliance team. If you have a feel for compliance, including data privacy and AI regulation, and want to apply it in a fast-moving fintech environment, we'd love to hear from you.

We are a team of 8 lawyers led by the Group Chief Legal Officer, with backgrounds from international law firms and regulated entities, and we are genuinely happy to share what we know.

If you like getting things done, enjoy variety in your work, and want to grow fast in a fintech environment, this might be the right fit for you.

What you will do: Compliance (including data privacy, security, and AI) and product - this will be the core of your agenda. As to the day-to-day work, this will include especially:

  • Research & Preparation of Legal Assessment and Business Advisory: A big part of your work will be legal research on a wide range of topics, discussions with business, and assessing the feasibility of new product ideas.
  • Policies: You will draft and review internal policies, making sure they are practical, up to date, and aligned with our internal processes.
  • Regulatory Processes: You will participate in the preparation and processing of various regulatory filings, especially relating to change management within the FTMO Group (overlap and coordination with M&A and corporate).
  • Product and Marketing: You will review product terms, advise on client communication, and approve marketing campaigns and other content from a legal perspective, ensuring compliance with our group requirements.
  • Vendor Management & Contracts: You will review and negotiate vendor contracts as part of our vendor management process, making sure commercial agreements are solid and aligned with our standards.
  • KYC & Onboarding: You will be assisting in vendor onboarding processes, including more extensive KYC and due diligence processes where needed.
  • From time to time, you will also get involved in other areas the team covers — such as corporate and M&A, financing, real estate or labour law. We like people who are curious and willing to pitch in beyond their core agenda.

What do we expect from you?

  • A completed Master’s degree in Law from the Czech Republic
  • Prior experience (e.g., as a legal assistant/paralegal during or after your studies) in a law firm or an in-house legal team is required.
  • Fluent knowledge of Czech and English (both spoken and written) is essential, as we communicate daily in an international environment and manage global projects.
  • A positive relationship with technology and an open mind when it comes to trying new innovative tools and working methods, in particular AI tools such as Harvey AI or Claude.
  • Experience in data protection, cybersecurity, or AI-related legal matters is an advantage.
  • A positive, proactive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Why join the FTMO team?
