Job description

The Legal Intern provides day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Legal & Compliance team. The role focuses on document management, contract organization, proofreading, basic contract review, legal research, and coordination with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Document & Contract Administration

○Organize, file, and maintain the contract repository, ensuring all executed agreements are properly uploaded and indexed.

○ Track contract statuses, renewal dates, and signature workflows across internal teams.

○ Coordinate routing and execution of contracts with internal stakeholders and counterparties.

○ Maintain organized legal files, templates, and document archives.

Basic Legal Document Review

○ Review and proofread standard NDAs, vendor agreements, and internal policies for completeness, consistency, and formatting.

○ Flag issues, inconsistencies, or missing provisions for review by the legal team.

○ Assist in preparing redlines and tracking changes across document versions.

Legal Research Support

○ Conduct basic research on Philippine laws, regulations, and regulatory issuances relevant to the team's work.

○ Summarize research findings into clear, concise memos or reference notes for the legal team's use.

Internal Coordination & Communication

○ Coordinate with Finance, Operations, Sales, and other teams on legal document requirements and deadlines.

○ Follow up on pending signatures, document submissions, and approvals.

○ Assist in scheduling meetings, maintaining action item logs, and preparing correspondence on behalf of the legal team.

General Administrative Support

○ Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Legal & Compliance team.

○ Assist in maintaining the compliance calendar, deadline trackers, and internal checklists.

○ Support process improvement initiatives for legal workflows and documentation standards.

Qualifications

- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Legal Management, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in document handling and proofreading.

- Clear and professional written and verbal communication in English.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite

- Interest in legal operations, corporate law, compliance, or fintech.

- No prior legal work experience required; exposure to contract management or legal admin work is an advantage.
