Job Summary/Technical Knowledge
- Identify hazards and maintain clean and organized working areas
- Understand and execute procedures for routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs of a variety of Saronic equipment.
- Be a technical resource for our production and procurement teams
- Knowledge of the installation, repair, and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical systems; and the related components of industrial machinery and equipment
- Will be required to work aloft (on scaffold or on manlifts) and in confined spaces.
- On site training is provided.
Job Proficiency
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on shipyard equipment, including but not limited to: telehandlers, forklifts, cherry pickers, manlifts, welding machines, power tools, industrial manufacturing equipment, compressors, etc.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues to ensure optimal shipyard operations
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize equipment failures and downtime
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including repairs made and parts used
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment as necessary
- Performing routine maintenance and emergency repairs
Culture and Collaboration
- Follow all shipyard safety policies, including proper use of PPE, fire prevention, and confined space protocols.
- Assist in the training and development of junior maintenance technicians
- Collaborate and communicate with welders, metal fitters, pipefitters, electricians, and other trades as required to complete vessel construction or repair and to maintain efficient work flows
- Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced ship production environment
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Maintain a positive attitude toward customers and represent Saronic professionally
- Make a personal commitment and be accountable for HSE results, driving toward the achievement of defined goals
- Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor(s), Production Manager(s), and other team members to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks
