Job description

About Unity Advisory

Unity Advisory is a modern advisory business built for today's CFO, with connected solutions across finance, deals and tax. Focussed on client outcomes, seasoned experts lead every engagement, in an operating model powered by AI and free from audit conflict.

The Role

We’re looking for a Manager based in either our London or Manchester office to join Unity Advisory’s growing corporate tax team. You’ll manage a portfolio of advisory and compliance engagements, helping CFOs, Heads of Tax and finance teams navigate tax obligations, business growth and change. Technology and AI are built into how we work. You’ll use digital tools to improve analysis, streamline delivery and produce clear, practical advice, applying your technical judgement throughout. Working with senior colleagues, you’ll build client relationships, develop junior team members and help shape how we deliver our services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day delivery across a portfolio of corporate tax clients, acting as their main point of contact.
  • Deliver advice on corporate structuring, reorganisations and tax planning, with senior support on complex matters.
  • Use AI, automation and data analysis to improve delivery, checking outputs for accuracy and technical quality.
  • Prepare and review corporation tax computations, returns and technical reports, managing deadlines and identifying risks.
  • Manage routine HMRC correspondence and enquiries, escalating complex issues where needed.
  • Support transaction-related projects alongside M&A Tax and Deals colleagues.
  • Coach junior colleagues, review their work and manage engagement budgets and resources.
  • Identify opportunities to support clients further and contribute to proposals and pitches.

Qualifications and experience

  • Strong UK corporate tax knowledge, with experience delivering advisory and compliance work.
  • Confidence using data and digital tools, with a practical interest in applying AI and automation to improve how you work.
  • CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant corporate tax experience gained in an in-house team or tax advisory firm, including managing complex assignments and reviewing junior colleagues’ work.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues in commercial terms.
  • Good organisation, sound judgement and the initiative to take ownership while knowing when to seek support.

Additional Information We are committed to an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. Please let us know if you need any reasonable adjustments or support when applying or arranging your interview. We do not accept unsolicited CVs from third-party agencies.

Why work at Unity Advisory

  • Culture: Described as “Straightforward, Intentionally Commercial, Open, Experimental, and Team‑First.” The firm is designed for high performers who value impact over politics.
  • Work Style: Flat teams with high autonomy; every employee owns delivery for client outcomes. Remote/hybrid policy not specified, but roles appear to be UK‑based with some global presence.
  • Perks & Environment: Modern tools, strong leadership support, and the chance to shape a fast‑growing firm from an early stage. Emphasis on “the right tools, culture, capital, and leadership to enable people to do their best work.”
  • Engineering Culture: Technical roles (Data Engineer, Solution Architect) are embedded in a firm that treats AI as a core capability, offering engineers exposure to real‑world finance transformation.
