Job description

About Unity Advisory

Unity Advisory is a modern advisory business built for today's CFO, with connected solutions across finance, deals and tax. Focussed on client outcomes, seasoned experts lead every engagement, in an operating model powered by AI and free from audit conflict.

The Role

We’re looking for Senior Managers (based in either our London or Manchester offices) to play a vital role in growing Unity Advisory’s corporate tax practice. You’ll own senior client relationships and lead complex advisory engagements, supporting Heads of Tax, CFOs and business leaders on structuring, transactions and tax strategy. Technology and AI are built into how we work. You’ll use digital tools to strengthen analysis, improve delivery and give clients clearer insight, combining these capabilities with sound technical judgement. Working closely with our Partners, you’ll shape our offering, develop the team and win new work.

Responsibilities

  • Embed AI, automation and data analysis into delivery, improving efficiency and quality while maintaining rigorous technical review.
  • Own a portfolio of corporate tax clients, leading advisory engagements and overseeing compliance delivery.
  • Advise on corporate structuring, reorganisations and tax planning, bringing in international and specialist expertise where needed.
  • Lead technical reviews and manage complex tax issues, risks and HMRC enquiries.
  • Work with M&A Tax and Deals colleagues on transactions and post-deal integration.
  • Grow client relationships, identify opportunities across Unity and lead proposals and pitches.
  • Develop Managers and junior colleagues, taking responsibility for engagement quality, budgets and profitability.

Qualifications and experience

  • Confidence using digital tools and a practical interest in applying AI and automation to tax work, including helping others adopt new approaches.
  • Strong UK corporate tax expertise, with a track record of leading complex engagements and advising senior clients.
  • CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, with substantial relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Evidence of winning work, developing relationships and turning technical issues into clear commercial advice.
  • Initiative and sound judgement, with the ambition to help build a growing practice.

Additional Information We are committed to an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. Please let us know if you need any reasonable adjustments or support when applying or arranging your interview. We do not accept unsolicited CVs from third-party agencies.

Why work at Unity Advisory

  • Culture: Described as “Straightforward, Intentionally Commercial, Open, Experimental, and Team‑First.” The firm is designed for high performers who value impact over politics.
  • Work Style: Flat teams with high autonomy; every employee owns delivery for client outcomes. Remote/hybrid policy not specified, but roles appear to be UK‑based with some global presence.
  • Perks & Environment: Modern tools, strong leadership support, and the chance to shape a fast‑growing firm from an early stage. Emphasis on “the right tools, culture, capital, and leadership to enable people to do their best work.”
  • Engineering Culture: Technical roles (Data Engineer, Solution Architect) are embedded in a firm that treats AI as a core capability, offering engineers exposure to real‑world finance transformation.
