Backend Engineer
The Company Neon Redwood is a data services consulting company working on cutting-edge AI and data-driven solutions. We are a team of passionate engineers and data experts, and we are currently looking for a Backend Engineer to join us in developing and expanding our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer with a background with some knowledge of front end development and a passion for building data-heavy web applications The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of professional experience and a strong understanding of LLMs, TypeScript and Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar technologies. This full-time role involves working closely with our CTO and team members to design, develop, and maintain apis, web applications, and LLM integrations.
Responsibilities
- Implement multi-step agentic workflows using LLMs
- Collaborate with the CTO and team members to design, develop, and maintain systems and applications
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in TypeScript and related technologies
- Implement and optimize data storage and processing solutions using PostgreSQL and AWS
- Develop tooling to support resilient agentic workflows
- Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies to keep our infrastructure competitive
- Assist in the development and launch of new data-driven tools and products
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of professional full-stack or backend engineering experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively
- Strong communication skills and a desire to grow into leadership roles
- Experience with Asana or similar project management tools
- Understanding of API design and development
- Solid proficiency in TypeScript
- Familiarity with Next.js
Nice to Have
- Experience with LangChain or similar tools in production
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts
- Experience with Prisma
- Familiarity with SST and/or Pulumi
- Experience integrating LLMs into production systems
