Job description

We pull medical technology from the future to solve human health.

Scarlet is authorised to assess and certify medical devices. We combine clinical, technical and regulatory expertise with AI agents and software so rigorous certification can keep pace with product development at the world’s most ambitious technology companies, without lowering the safety bar. Our customers have cut a year or more from their certification timelines for new AI-enabled medical devices and shortened product-update cycles from months to weeks. You’ll join a team building the infrastructure that makes these outcomes repeatable at scale.

About the role

As a Product Designer at Scarlet, you’ll turn complex regulatory work into clear, efficient and trustworthy experiences. We’re betting that great product design can make medical-device certification faster and easier. You’ll help prove it. You’ll work from our London office, sitting alongside regulatory experts who use our products and account managers who speak to customers every day. That puts you close to the people who understand the work, the problems and what we should build next. You’ll have a lot of autonomy. We’ll trust you to form a point of view, use your judgement and work out the best way forward. That means plenty of room to experiment, learn and push the boundaries of what product design can contribute at Scarlet.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design of core workflows and key product areas.
  • Turn complex requirements into clear product concepts, prototypes and interfaces.
  • Partner with product, engineering and regulatory experts to ship and improve solutions.
  • Help evolve Scarlet’s design system to improve product quality and delivery speed, including in code.
  • Contribute to Scarlet’s overall product design direction.

Required qualifications

  • A portfolio of shipped digital products demonstrating product judgement and visual craft.
  • Experience leading complex product work from discovery through delivery.
  • Experience designing, prototyping or evolving design systems in code.
  • Experience using research to inform product decisions.
  • Experience working directly with users and cross-functional teams.
  • Evidence of communicating complex ideas clearly.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in health technology or another regulated industry.

Interview process

  • Intro chat with Jono - 20 minutes
