Professional Surveyor – Kalamazoo, Michigan

What you'll get to do:
- Assist with management of the survey department including staff, equipment and workload, providing professional and technological direction.
- Develop proposals and estimates for land survey, topographic survey and construction staking clients.
- Oversee and manage land surveying projects ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide excellent communication between clients, staff, and government agencies.
- Perform survey field work, including site topographic survey, boundary survey and construction staking.
- Prepare and review boundary and topographical surveys, ALTA/ACSM surveys, subdivision plans, and easement exhibits.
- Create legal descriptions and manage survey projects to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Maintain quality control measures to verify survey data accuracy and completeness.
- Provide guidance on current and emerging surveying technologies and methods.
What will make you successful:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics or equivalent.
- Registration as Professional Surveyor in the State of Michigan.
- 6-8 years of experience is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will be a “hands on” leader.
- Strong Project management experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
