Job Summary Enters data accurately and consistently in external-facing R&D documents, including formulas, specifications, and process instructions in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ENF (Electronic Notebook & Formulator) systems. Completes tasks on-time to meet R&D project timelines.  Baseline understanding/experience in food industry, awareness of Hood products, ingredients, plants, internal processes, and relevant software systems. Adheres to data management standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviews and accurately enters / updates formulas, ingredient and product specifications, process instructions in PLM system with information provided by Scientists/Engineers, Right the First Time.
  • With supervision, communicate with internal approvers and suppliers to complete Ingredient Spec and Formula approvals
  • Completes assigned tasks to create/obsolete items for PLM
  • Completes assigned tasks in ENF
  • Adhere to R&D Standard Operating Procedures and checklists.
  • Travel required as needed for business; communicate with supervisor when not manageable.

Education & Experience

  • 0-3 years of Data Management/Documentation experience
  • Masters/Bachelors of Science/Engineering degree in Food Science or related field of study
  • Experience in food industry highly beneficial
  • Computer Science and/or Coding Knowledge highly beneficial
  • Certifications highly beneficial

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic technical knowledge of science, engineering, and/or quality assurance, preferably in food industry.
  • Baseline knowledge of PLM,ENF, and/or data management systems; demonstrated ability to learn new softwares.  Excellent computer skills and interest in information technology
  • Math and science fluency
  • Ability to complete assignments to meet project deadlines; attention to detail.
  • Foundational interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
  • Baseline knowledge of food industry, awareness of Hood products, formulas, processes, ingredients, plants, and internal processes.
  • Curious and shows ability and desire to learn. Is personally committed to and actively works towards continual self-improvement. Leads-by-example while working on projects
  • Works well with other team members; collaborates well with team members and members outside the department.
  • Skills to handle risk and uncertainty as well as problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong self-accountability to meet deadlines and drive results; is accountable for own work; meets timelines and expectations.
