Job description
Via is using technology to transform transportation around the world. From changing a single person’s daily commute to reducing humanity’s collective environmental footprint — we’ve got huge goals.
As a Regulatory Operations Lead, you will lead complex compliance and operational programs directly supporting Via's transit partnerships. You will oversee end-to-end regulatory operations, ensure strict adherence to public transit rules and safety standards, integrate modern AI-driven operational tools, and drive strategic cross-functional execution.
**This role is based in NYC with a 3x per week office requirement.**
What You’ll Do:
- Regulatory Compliance & Governance: Manage and ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local transit regulations, accessibility mandates (e.g., ADA), and contractual public transit requirements (e.g., FTA).
- AI & Automation Integration: Modernize operational compliance by integrating AI tooling, automated reporting pipelines, and predictive risk detection; replacing legacy transit paperwork with scalable AI solutions.
- Operational Performance & Risk Management: Build the analytical infrastructure to monitor service-level agreements, conduct strategic audits, and ensure 100% operational audit-readiness across our US markets.
- Program & Project Management: Build and manage structured systems and visual tracking workflows to manage complex compliance dependencies, timelines, and execution priorities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with Legal, Expansion, and Market Operations teams to seamlessly integrate regulatory requirements into daily operational execution and organizational workflows.
Who You Are:
- Experienced operations manager, with at least 6+ years of experience and hold a Bachelor's degree
- Independent self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and feels comfortable with a high level of responsibility
- Expert project and program manager with strong skills in building systems to calendar, monitor, and track complex dependencies across cross-functional teams
- Effective communicator who excels in conducting complex operational analyses and distilling key insights for various stakeholders
- Project ownership mindset: Effective at managing multiple tasks simultaneously, comfortable taking on responsibility, and working in an independent manner
- Collaborative team player skilled at generating buy-in and working effectively across legal, policy, and operations teams
- Detail-oriented executor who is obsessively action-oriented, thrives operating autonomously, and maintains rigorous standards
- Prior compliance background or Salesforce experience is a plus, but not required—skills can be learned on the job
Compensation and Benefits:
- Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Salary reflected does not include equity or variable pay, where applicable
- Salary Range: $130,000 - $165,000 / year
- We are proud to offer a generous and comprehensive benefits package, including free medical plans and 401K matching.
