Job description

Keep our radars sharp in the field – ensuring every system performs when it matters most.

As our S&S Systems Engineer, you ensure the reliable operation of our radar systems by delivering technical solutions tailored to customer needs. You troubleshoot issues, analyze system performance, and drive product improvements through direct customer support, fieldwork, and demonstrations. You functionally report to the S&S Systems Manager, dotted-line report to the General Manager North America, and collaborate closely with Project Management, Product Owners, and I&D teams. Your work directly guarantees uptime and stability for our customers in the field.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Technical support and integration: Provide daily and on-call end-user support focused on software-hardware integration. Diagnose and resolve issues remotely or face-to-face for radar deployments.
  • System and database performance: Oversee database, system, and server performance while managing security and functionality updates. Remotely monitor system stability to safeguard uptime metrics.
  • On-site maintenance and hardware repair: Address malfunction issues on the spot during client visits. Analyse root causes and repair or replace faulty software or hardware components.
  • Network configuration and Linux administration: Configure system networking using Netplan on Ubuntu for VLANs, static routing, and sensors. Resolve Ubuntu stack failures, system services, log analysis, and kernel module issues.
  • Preventive maintenance and data analysis: Conduct regular remote or on-site inspections using monitoring tools to address vulnerabilities early. Analyse first-line data to uncover trends, solve technical problems, and share feedback with Product teams.
  • Field operations and subcontractor management: Manage sub-contractors on location to ensure compliance with service contracts and quality standards. Support on-site installations and product demonstrations when needed.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of electrical engineering experience combining software, Linux, and field hardware
  • Solid hands-on Ubuntu Linux administration including system services, log analysis, and package management
  • Strong network configuration skills using Netplan, SSH, port forwarding, firewalls, and routing
  • Experience with radar systems or similar industrial hardware
  • Ability to analyze network diagrams and trace connectivity issues effectively
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a team-first, practical mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Valid driver's license for North America
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time

N.B. Don't worry if you don't tick every box. Our mission is a journey, and there's plenty to learn along the way. If most of this fits, we'd love to hear from you.
