Job description

Why this role matters: As a Satellite Production Technician, Integration, Mechanical & Thermal, you play a vital role in ensuring ICEYE's satellites are built to fly. You will execute assigned assembly, integration, and testing tasks with high precision and reliability, following established procedures and work instructions. Working under the guidance of Senior Technicians and Production Line Owners, you will ensure process consistency and report technical observations. You are responsible for the quality of your individual work, ensuring all mechanical and thermal assemblies meet ICEYE's standards for flight readiness.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and integration activities according to standard operating procedures, including torqueing, bonding, and basic subsystem setups.
  • Identify and report build or process deviations immediately. Support root cause analysis by providing accurate observations to the technical leadership team.
  • Work effectively within the production team, supporting colleagues and participating in shift handovers and technical briefings.
  • Strictly follow work instructions, travelers, and checklists. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in real-time.
  • Support Production Line Owners and Team Leaders by preparing test environments, verifying configurations, and providing technical insight during line meetings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work environment compliant with ESD, safety, and cleanliness standards.

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline -- or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 1-2 years of practical experience in mechanical assembly, integration, or high-precision technical work
  • Solid understanding of structural assembly techniques including torqueing, alignment, and thermal hardware application (panels, structures, deployables, pads, pastes, tapes)
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (ECSS, IPC, ISO) and cleanroom practices
  • Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to follow strict technical procedures and documentation requirements
  • Comfortable working on-site full-time in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with satellite mechanical subsystems and thermal hardware integration
  • Exposure to environmental test campaigns (vibration, thermal vacuum)
  • Experience supporting design-for-manufacturing (DfM) initiatives
  • Familiarity with ERP or MES systems in a production environment
  • Knowledge of deployable mechanisms
