Job description

Who we are.

Platinum Technologies is a Northern Virginia based integrated solutions firm that specializes in PaaS, Cybersecurity & AI Platform development for the Defense and Federal Sectors. Our team solves hard problems and helps our Mission Partners achieve their goals. If you are self-motivated, possess demonstrated learning agility, and are passionate about delivering high-quality work products – we want to hear from you.

We lead with technical expertise, but that is just the tip of the iceberg – the ‘Why’ matters. At Platinum, we don’t hire people to just do a job. We provide professional and leadership development to complement our self-motivated domain experts. Our teammates are dot-connecting leaders that operate in a mutually accountable environment to deliver thought leadership, expert technical analysis, and quality execution for our clients.

You.

Platinum Technologies currently has an opportunity for a Senior Endpoint Engineer supporting the customer. You will support endpoint migration from agency-specific enclaves to a common provider, with a focus on MECM infrastructure readiness, Windows reimaging task sequences, and destination Microsoft Entra join and Intune enrollment.

This position is fully remote. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and hold an active Secret or higher DoD security clearance. This role requires privileged access.

What you get to do.

  • Assess the health and deployment readiness of Defense Agencies and Field Activities (DAFA) Microsoft Configuration Manager environments.
  • Evaluate DAFA MECM infrastructure; document readiness findings, migration blockers, remediation owners, and retest evidence.
  • Validate client health, management-point communication, distribution-point content, boundary behavior, and task-sequence dependencies before rollout.
  • Engineer, test, deploy, and troubleshoot authorized migration-preparation and Windows reimaging task sequences.
  • Integrate approved PowerShell activities with prerequisite checks, safe error handling, reboot coordination, and preservation of diagnostic evidence.
  • Validate data protection and recovery arrangements before executing destructive steps under the approved deployment process.
  • Coordinate pilots, deployment targeting, rollout controls, and approved remediation with DAFA infrastructure owners and the migration team.
  • Support the authorized provisioning-package workflow for destination Microsoft Entra join and Intune enrollment; isolate failures at the Windows, identity, or enrollment stage.
  • Capture separate evidence of source-side completion and destination enrollment, and coordinate validation of policies, applications, and final management state.
  • Monitor deployment outcomes, investigate recurring failures, and provide Tier III support during post-deployment stabilization.

Required Skills.

  • Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM / Microsoft Configuration Manager) infrastructure.
  • Experience developing and troubleshooting operating system deployment (OSD), migration-preparation, and Windows reimaging task sequences.
  • Ability to assess MECM client health, management points, distribution points, boundaries, and deployment dependencies.
  • Practical experience with PowerShell scripting, deployment diagnostics, and safe remediation workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra join and Microsoft Intune enrollment and the ability to troubleshoot provisioning issues.
  • Experience coordinating enterprise endpoint migration pilots, deployment waves, and Tier III post-deployment support.
  • Active Secret or higher DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills.

  • Experience supporting DISA, DoD Fourth Estate agencies, or other large federal enterprise endpoint migration programs.
  • Experience documenting migration readiness, blockers, remediation ownership, retest evidence, and final endpoint management state.

The Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. All qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to disability, protected veteran status, race, color, religious creed, national origin, citizenship, marital status, sex, sexual orientation/gender identity, age, or genetic information.
