Design complex systems that actually get built At Valdes Architecture & Engineering, you won’t just produce drawings—you’ll lead the design of piping systems that support real industrial operations across energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure. We’re looking for a Senior Piping Designer who wants ownership, variety, and the opportunity to mentor others while working on technically challenging projects.
What You'll Do
- Lead piping design and plant layout for industrial projects from concept through construction
- Develop 3D models, layouts, and detailed design deliverables
- Collaborate with mechanical, structural, electrical, and I&C teams
- Review vendor drawings and ensure design quality and constructability
- Support field work and solve real-world issues during execution
- Guide and mentor junior designers

- Own multiple projects—balancing quality, schedule, and budget
- Improve design standards, workflows, and best practices
- Play a key role in interdisciplinary coordination
- Help shape how projects are delivered—not just execute them
What You Bring
- Core experience:
- 8+ years of piping design experience
- Strong background in plant layout and industrial systems
- Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD tools (AutoCAD or similar)
You’ll stand out if you have:

Experience with multi-discipline project environments
- Knowledge of stress analysis and in-line instrumentation

Experience mentoring or leading designers
- SPED PPD Certified applicants preferred
