Senior Software Engineer – (C/C++) ScienceLogic, Inc. is seeking Senior Software Engineer with a focus on C/C++ agent development on Windows and Linux. Ideal candidates will be able to take a lead role in reviewing/accepting requirements, building new data collection and manipulation functionality, and resolving complex defects within the software.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years software development experience in: C/C++
- Programming experience with C# is a plus
- Knowledge of OS architecture and interactions with Windows and Linux (Ubuntu/Redhat); AIX/Solaris is a plus
- Experience with deployment of patches remotely that involve in-place upgrades
- Experience with interacting with REST API calls
- Experience with .NET framework, PowerShell and Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable
- Familiarity with host metrics (CPU, RAM, disk, network, etc.)
- Experience with creating and running software both under administrator and non-administrator accounts
- 6+ years Linux
- 6+ years of MySQL, including exposure to views, stored functions, and stored procedures.
- Experience developing multi-threaded or multi-process software
- Basic working knowledge of: SNMP, SOAP
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate AI coding assistants into daily workflow.
- Experience reviewing AI produced code and designs for accuracy.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, from requirements through delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference for AI DLC experience.
- Experience in the area of network or systems management is a major plus.
- Experience with network observability or monitoring platforms
- Experience working in Agile environments

- Contribute to system architecture, ensuring high availability and performance
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following best practices
- Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Exposure to distributed systems and large-scale data processing
- Build and maintain highly scalable C/C++ agent processes for the purpose of data collection, manipulation, pruning, etc
- Review requirements submitted by product managers and take a lead role in implementing said requirements.
- Review and correct and/or delegate resolution of defects
- Participate in feature hand-off demos to provide internal exposure to emerging features and functionality
