Summary

Lead technical pre-sales activities for multinational clients evaluating Light’s Smart Financial Platform. Act as a bridge between sales, product, and customers by running demos, designing architecture plans, and supporting RFPs to help close deals.

Job description

Retire the ERP. Light exists to replace factory-era ERPs with software that feels alive. Our AI-native financial platform gives modern, global companies automated accounting, real-time reporting and financial flows that move at the speed of the business. In a short time we've become the operating core for companies like Lovable, Legora and Keyshot. Multinational companies don't stop at one market, and neither do we. Come help us take Light into Benelux, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, and make it the global default for next-gen finance.

The role

TLDR: Own pre-sales from first discovery to signed contract across four growth regions, and build the local know-how that lets Light win there at scale.

Every new market brings its own GAAP, tax rules, e-invoicing mandates, banks and incumbent ERPs. Finance leaders there want proof that Light handles their reality, not just the UK or US version of it. You'll work hand in hand with Account Executives in each region, pull in Product and Engineering when a requirement is new, and as a senior early hire you'll define how we sell technically in markets where we're starting from scratch.

What you'll do

  • Run the technical sales cycle. Lead discovery, solution design and tailored demos for CFOs, controllers and finance teams at multinational companies across Benelux, LATAM, the Middle East and APAC.
  • Own the hard questions. Handle objections on integrations, data migration, security, controls and audit trail, and run proofs of concept against each prospect's own data and success criteria.
  • Make Light local. Map country requirements such as local GAAP and IFRS, VAT and GST, e-invoicing (Peppol, CFDI, NF-e, ZATCA), multi-currency and statutory reporting to how Light handles them, and flag clearly where it doesn't yet.
  • Build the regional playbook. Create demo environments, localized scenarios, RFP answers and technical collateral for each market, so the next deal there moves faster.
  • Work with local partners. Support accounting firms, implementation partners and resellers in each region with technical enablement and joint deal work.
  • Feed the roadmap. Turn what you hear in each market into clear localization priorities for Product and Engineering, and use AI tooling to cut the time each evaluation takes.

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years as a Solutions Engineer, Solutions Consultant or Pre-Sales lead for ERP or finance software, ideally vendor side, with a record of closing complex multi-entity deals.
  • A strong accounting foundation: close, consolidation, intercompany, multi-currency, revenue recognition and controls, with hands-on knowledge of local requirements in at least one of our growth regions.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major ERP (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or Workday) and real implementation work: data migration, integrations, APIs.
  • Experience selling across countries and cultures, and comfort working across time zones and travelling regularly to customers.
  • Executive presence and crisp writing. You make complex things simple, in a demo, a workshop or a one-page proposal.
  • Genuinely AI-native. You've changed how you work because of AI tooling, not just added it to your workflow.

Bonus points

  • Professional fluency in Dutch, French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic, in addition to English.
  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or a local equivalent), or a background at a Big 4 or regional accounting firm desirable
  • Experience being the first technical hire in a new region and building its playbook.
  • You've configured AI agents in production or built your own tools with them.

Probably not for you if: you've used ChatGPT once and weren't impressed, or you'd rather follow a proven playbook than write the first one.
