Applied Intuition at a glance

Applied Intuition builds the software and digital infrastructure that brings physical AI (autonomous driving and robotics) to every moving machine, from cars and trucks to drones and defense platforms.

Applied Intuition builds an end-to-end physical AI platform (developer tools and simulation, a Vehicle OS, and a full Self-Driving System) that carmakers, industrial operators, and defense agencies use to develop, validate, and deploy autonomy at scale. It spans land, sea, air, and space, and runs a closed-loop data flywheel that turns real fleet data into simulation, training, and over-the-air improvement.

About the role

We are looking for a Software Integration Engineer to bring customer and in-house software together into working Vehicle OS releases that run in production vehicles. You will sit between customers, software engineers and vehicle test teams. You will integrate software components across ECUs and vehicle domains, own the build and release pipeline, and make sure each integration works on SIL, HIL and vehicle setups. The work involves close collaboration with customers in Japan and engineering teams in the US. At Applied Intuition, you will:

  • Work directly with customers to integrate their software components and applications into the Vehicle OS
  • Build, configure and integrate software across ECUs, including toolchains, cross-compilation and target deployment
  • Own integration builds and releases: version management, dependency handling, release notes and delivery to customers
  • Bring up and flash software on target hardware, benches and vehicles
  • Set up and run integration testing on SIL, HIL and in-vehicle environments
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and integration test automation
  • Triage integration issues across software, network and hardware layers, and drive root-cause analysis with the software teams
  • Track integration readiness and quality to hit SoP milestones
  • Set up an integration workflow that works across Japan and US time zones

We're looking for someone who has:

  • BSc or MSc in computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive software integration, build/release engineering or ECU software development
  • Working knowledge of C and C++, and of build systems (e.g. CMake, Make, Bazel)
  • Experience integrating software on embedded Linux, QNX or RTOS-based targets
  • Hands-on experience with HIL/SIL environments and automotive tools (e.g. Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, dSPACE, Lauterbach, ETAS or similar)
  • Strong understanding of in-vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, SOME/IP) and diagnostics (UDS, DoIP), including flashing and reprogramming
  • Scripting experience for automation (Python, Bash)
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
  • Strong debugging skills across hardware, software and network layers
  • Fluency in both English and Japanese (written and verbal), with the ability to operate effectively in a bilingual business environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience integrating Classic AUTOSAR and/or Adaptive AUTOSAR stacks (e.g. Vector DaVinci, EB tresos)
  • Experience with containerization or virtualization (Docker, hypervisors) for automotive platforms
  • Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262 functional safety or ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity
  • Experience with OTA update systems or software configuration management at scale
  • Experience working directly with OEM or Tier 1 customers
  • Experience with in-vehicle testing and data logging/analysis tools

Benefits and Perks:

  • Lunch and dinner allowance
  • Equity (RSU) offering
  • English / Japanese language allowance
  • Company sponsored housing program
  • Pension plan (確定拠出年金)
