We at Coforge are hiring a Senior Android Engineer (#21912) with a strong background in modern Android and cross-platform development technologies, capable of delivering high-quality, scalable mobile solutions in a hybrid work environment based in Hermosillo, Mexico.
MUST HAVE experience working in Kotlin Multi Platform codebases.
As a Senior Android Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering mobile products using Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to create scalable, performant, and engaging customer-facing applications. The ideal candidate brings strong product engineering instincts, takes ownership of outcomes, and has a proven track record of shipping high-quality Android applications to production.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to define, build, and deliver customer-centric mobile experiences.
- Drive the end-to-end development lifecycle of Android features, from ideation and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-launch optimization.
- Build high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and performant Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate customer needs into elegant technical solutions.
- Integrate and optimize data interactions using GraphQL and REST APIs.
- Advocate for exceptional user experiences through attention to performance, usability, accessibility, and reliability.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, technical roadmaps, and engineering standards for the Android platform.
- Mentor and support fellow engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in Agile development processes, sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to application observability, monitoring, performance optimization, and operational excellence.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and help improve platform resilience, reliability, and maintainability.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in mobile application development.Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
- Hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform.
- Solid experience with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development.
- Experience building and deploying Android applications.
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns and best practices.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment (3 days per week onsite in Hermosillo).
- Conversational English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building and scaling applications with Jetpack Compose in production environments.
- Experience with GraphQL client frameworks such as Apollo GraphQL.
- Experience with mobile analytics, experimentation, A/B testing, and data-driven product development.
- Experience working in a product-led organization with strong customer-centric development practices.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and modern backend integration patterns.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing engineering culture.
- Familiarity with modern Android release processes, app performance monitoring, and Play Store deployment best practices.
