Multi-day iron-air battery storage for the electric grid, made in America.

Form Energy designs and manufactures grid-scale iron-air batteries that store electricity for up to 100 hours, far longer than lithium-ion, at a fraction of the cost. It sells these systems to electric utilities and developers to firm up renewable power and keep the grid reliable through multi-day stress periods, and offers Formware software to model the value of that storage.

Role Description

Form Energy is hiring an experienced professional to support day-to-day supply chain logistics operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of materials while maintaining accurate data, reporting, and visibility. This role works closely with internal stakeholders, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs partners to execute shipments, resolve issues, and provide data-driven insights that improve logistics performance. The successful candidate will leverage a combination of operational judgment, analytical skills, and curiosity to support both the execution and continuous improvement of logistics operations. They will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external logistics providers to ensure reliable material movement, accurate data, and timely communication, while contributing insights that help optimize cost, service, and scalability. This is an exciting opportunity to play a meaningful role in building and supporting the logistics foundation of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and a compelling mission. This is a hybrid role, which will require working onsite from our West Virginia office 3 days per week.

What you'll do:

  • Own daily shipment execution and bookings across domestic and international modes (air, ocean, and ground), ensuring shipments are scheduled, tendered, and executed accurately and on time, while actively evaluating cost-versus-speed trade-offs to optimize mode selection.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve logistics dashboards and data visualizations in Sigma and other business intelligence tools to provide real-time, self-service insights for operations and leadership teams.
  • Maintain and govern logistics datasets, ensuring data integrity across transportation systems and reporting platforms while translating raw operational data into meaningful business insights.
  • Serve as the primary analytical interface with carriers, freight forwarders, and brokers by evaluating service performance, identifying recurring issues, and supporting quarterly business reviews with fact-based insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor shipment visibility and exception trends, proactively identifying systemic risks, conducting root cause analysis, and partnering cross-functionally to implement long-term corrective actions that improve logistics reliability and scalability
  • Manage freight invoice review and reconciliation, validating charges against contracted rates and shipment details, resolving discrepancies, and supporting accurate accruals and cost tracking.
  • Partner cross-functionally with shipping/receiving teams, supply planning, procurement, manufacturing, and finance to align logistics execution with production schedules, priorities, and financial controls. Act as a strategic bridge, using data to help cross-functional teams understand how operational changes impact logistics costs and timelines.
  • Manage customs classifications (HS/HTS), trade documentation, and import/export processing to ensure compliant and on-time global shipments. Stay abreast of regulatory shifts and continuously update internal documentation workflows to mitigate customs risks.

Preferred Qualifications: Proven experience building data visualizations and interactive dashboards in Sigma (highly preferred), Tableau, or PowerBI, paired with advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Index/Match)." What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • 2-4 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, operations, or a related role
  • Strong understanding of transportation modes (air, ocean, truckload, LTL)
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, or customs brokers (Incoterms, customs processes)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Sigma)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and strong follow-through
  • Ability to work in the US and travel as necessary, up to 10%

Where you'll work: This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
