Job description
We’re building the future of enterprise B2B SaaS with AI agents. We operate at the scale of our customers with 1% of the resources. That requires precision, good judgement, and a sense of daring. We care as much about model productivity as we do human productivity. As a software architect, you’re responsible for both. We work exclusively with AWS Serverless products (Lambda, Step Functions, RDS Aurora). We’re obsessed with scaling without toil. We love AWS CDK. We really, really love it. We work in Typescript and a tiny amount of Python, but we try not to be precious about these things.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, high-performance infrastructure.
- Design architectures that allow both engineers and language models to quickly create, test, and deploy application code.
- Create reliable monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure platform stability and performance
- Mentor teammates and lead technical decision-making across the organization
- Collaborate with AI and product teams to translate complex requirements into elegant technical solutions
- Drive engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing strategies, and documentation
- Use codegen models to move 10x faster than you did two years ago
About you
- You love language models.
- You have the patience to be rigorous.
- You act like an owner in everything you do.
- People tell you you pick things up unusually quickly.
- You love the weird little details of life in our customer’s companies.
- You care about your work and you care about moving fast. A lot.
- You know more than you need to know. You have an insatiable curiosity.
Why work at SafetyKit
- Culture: Described as a “tightly-bound team of autonomous operators” with a high bar for talent and a bias for action. The team includes former Stripe, Netflix, Meta, and MIT/Princeton engineers.
- Remote/Hybrid: Fully in-person in San Francisco, five days a week.
- Impact: Early-stage company (pre-product-market fit achieved) with massive customers – “99.9% of the value we’ll ever produce is ahead of us.”
- Perks & Environment: High ownership, direct collaboration with founders, and a chance to shape a product already used by billion-dollar platforms. Emphasis on learning from the best and moving at “maximum velocity.”
