Job description

About Boltz

Boltz is a public benefit company building the next generation of AI-powered molecular modeling tools to make biology programmable and accelerate drug discovery, while keeping frontier capabilities broadly accessible.

Boltz-1, Boltz-2, and BoltzGen are open models trusted by 100,000+ scientists across biotech and academia, and used in programs at every Top 20 pharma as well as leading agrichemical and industrial research organizations.

We deliver these capabilities through Boltz Lab, our platform for running our latest models and design agents as reliable, production-grade tools. Boltz Lab is designed around real chemistry and biology workflows, so teams can start from a target and a hypothesis and quickly generate, evaluate, and rank candidate molecules.

About the role

As Community Lead, you will be leading the interactions of Boltz within the global scientific and developer community, as well as helping maintain our open-source models.

You will work both on our open-source models and users as well as as our product users, engaging with them, helping them succeed with Boltz models and turning their feedback into insights for product and growth.

This is a highly outward-facing role: you’ll be active in community channels, create technical content, support users, and help shape the culture of the Boltz ecosystem.

You will work closely with the Head of Community & Growth Marketing, product, and research teams to ensure that the community remains engaged, supported, and continuously growing.

About you

Essentials:

  • Strong communicator with the ability to engage technical audiences (scientists, developers, ML practitioners)
  • Experience working with developer or open-source communities (Discord, Slack, GitHub, forums, etc.)
  • Comfortable creating content (tutorials, demos, walkthroughs, posts)
  • Empathetic and user-focused — you enjoy helping people solve problems
  • Able to operate in fast-moving environments and respond quickly to community needs

Nice to have:

  • Active users of the Boltz open source models
  • Experience as a developer advocate, community manager, or similar role
  • Familiarity with tools used in scientific or ML workflows
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects
  • Presence in relevant communities (Twitter/X, GitHub, Discord, etc.)

What you’ll do

  • Engage daily with the Boltz community across Discord, GitHub, and other channels
  • Support users in getting started and troubleshooting issues
  • Contribute to the open source models and repositories
  • Create technical content (guides, notebooks, videos, demos)
  • Help run community programs, events, and activations
  • Contribute to building a strong, collaborative community culture

What we offer

  • Opportunity to be at the center of a fast-growing global scientific community
  • Direct impact on how researchers and developers use frontier AI tools
  • High visibility across product, research, and growth teams
  • Competitive compensation and equity

Why work at Boltz

  • Culture: Mission‑driven, open‑science ethos with a strong emphasis on research excellence and product impact. The team is lean (~17 employees as of early 2026) and growing.
  • Remote/Hybrid: Not explicitly stated; locations include London (HQ) and Boston. Likely flexible given the global team (employees in UK, US, Netherlands, Switzerland).
  • Notable perks: Opportunity to work on frontier AI models used by 100k+ scientists; direct collaboration with top pharma; usage‑based pricing aligns with customer success; public‑benefit status ensures long‑term mission alignment.
  • Engineering culture: Heavy focus on research engineering, software engineering, and product design. Looking for protein engineers with preclinical experience to shape the product roadmap.
