Job description

Director, Strategic Technology Partnerships

Location: Bay Area, CA

About Eon

Eon is transforming how enterprises think about cloud backup- turning backup data from a passive insurance policy into an active, strategic business asset.

As enterprises increasingly build on cloud, data, and AI infrastructure, Eon is creating a new category around Cloud Backup Posture Management (CBPM), helping organizations gain visibility, security, resilience, and access across their cloud environments.

We’re looking for a strategic partnerships leader to help us build relationships with the companies shaping the future of AI, data, and cloud infrastructure.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional BD/alliances role.

As Director, Strategic Technology Partnerships, you will build and own a focused portfolio of high-value relationships across the AI and Data ecosystem, with a particular focus on AI infrastructure providers, neoclouds and foundation model companies.

Your job will be to identify where Eon and these companies can create unique value together — and then turn those ideas into real partnerships, technology integrations, and significant business opportunities.

You’ll operate at the intersection of technology, and commercial execution, working directly with Eon’s executive team and closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.

The opportunities may not always have an existing playbook. You’ll be expected to find them, shape them, and make them happen.

What You'll Do

  • Build and own strategic relationships with a focused set of high-value companies across the AI, Data, and cloud infrastructure ecosystem.
  • Develop trusted relationships with executives, business leaders, product teams, and technical decision-makers.
  • Identify opportunities for Eon to become strategically embedded within emerging AI and data ecosystems.
  • Create and drive non-traditional partnership models, including technology integrations, joint GTM, OEM/licensing, infrastructure partnerships, co-selling, and strategic commercial agreements.
  • Identify relationships that can translate into large enterprise customer opportunities and work with Sales to develop them.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to evaluate and prioritize strategic integrations and technology opportunities.
  • Develop business cases and partnership strategies, align internal stakeholders, and drive opportunities from concept through execution.
  • Represent Eon externally and build our presence and reputation across the AI and Data ecosystem.
  • Bring market intelligence and ecosystem insights back to Eon to influence product, technology, and GTM strategy.
  • Help establish the playbook for Eon’s strategic technology partnerships as the function evolves.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, enterprise technology sales, or a related role.
  • Deep knowledge of the AI, Data, and cloud infrastructure landscape and a strong understanding of where the ecosystem is heading.
  • A strong network of relationships with senior leaders across AI infrastructure, neoclouds, foundation model companies, data platforms, or adjacent technology companies.
  • A track record of creating and closing complex, non-standard strategic partnerships or commercial opportunities.
  • Experience developing technology partnerships, integrations, OEM/licensing models, joint GTM motions, infrastructure partnerships, or strategic enterprise deals.
  • Strong technical credibility and the ability to engage comfortably with Product, Engineering, and technical executives.
  • Exceptional commercial judgment — you can connect technical possibilities with meaningful business outcomes.
  • Strong executive presence, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to operate effectively without an established playbook.
  • A builder who is equally comfortable opening doors, developing the strategy, and driving execution.

Experience working with leading AI infrastructure, neocloud, foundation model, data, and AI platform companies is a strong advantage.

Why Eon

You’ll have the opportunity to build something from the ground up at a company operating at the intersection of cloud, data, security, and AI.

This role offers significant ownership, direct access to Eon’s leadership team, and the ability to influence not just partnerships, but our broader technology and go-to-market strategy.

If you know the AI and Data ecosystem, have a strong network, and love turning unconventional ideas into high-impact partnerships, this is a chance to build something that doesn’t exist yet.
