Job description

Redefining Preventive Healthcare Building Data-Driven, Accessible Health for All Neko Health is seeking an Employment and Commercial Counsel Lead, US, to help shape the legal foundation of its rapidly expanding US operations. As a key member of the legal team, reporting to the General Counsel in Sweden, this role is central to navigating the legal complexities of scaling a mission-driven healthcare company across North America. This position offers broad responsibility across labor and employment law, commercial and corporate matters, and risk management. The Counsel will own all US labor and employment issues—including employee relations, workplace investigations, wage and hour compliance, and terminations—while also advising on commercial contracts, data protection, and regulatory compliance. The role partners closely with People/HR, engineering, clinical, and regulatory teams, ensuring Neko’s operations remain compliant and resilient as the company grows. Ideal candidates will have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, active US State Bar admission (New York preferred), and 8-10 years of relevant experience split between a leading law firm and in-house legal team. Substantial hands-on expertise in labor and employment law, a strong grounding in commercial and corporate law, and the ability to deliver practical, business-minded legal solutions are essential. Experience in healthcare regulations, IP, or supporting rapid headcount growth is a plus. This is an opportunity to take real ownership of legal and people risk at a company redefining preventive healthcare. The role offers a broad mandate, direct influence, and the chance to work alongside a seasoned legal team spanning the US and Europe. Company Website: nekohealth.com
