Overview:

The FP&A Consultant role is an incredibly exciting position in a core practice area of AMEND. You will be working to solve real-world problems by designing innovative solutions while surrounded by a team of world class talent. We are looking for individuals who can think outside of just the finance and accounting organization and help become financial change agents to our clients. We want someone who can analyze the financials, communicate the story appropriately, and partner with executives to drive impactful business decisions. You will be asked to evaluate the processes of a business, find opportunities for improvement and technological advancement, and help create the needed structure for businesses to scale. We need someone who is a problem solver, a critical thinker, and is always wanting to go after new things; you’ll never be doing the same thing twice!

Job Tasks:

  • Analyze financial or operational performance of companies to act as a strategic advisor and identify areas of improvement
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models including 3 statement financial models, leveraged acquisition models, operating projection analysis, and valuation analysis
  • Based on financial models, provide analysis and insight to teams and stakeholders to develop solutions to existing pain points, or to assess the financial or capital impact of decisions
  • Develop cost models to effectively capture the true cost of client’s products or services
  • Identify the inefficiencies within processes tied to the office of the CFO and recommend opportunities for automation or improvement. Processes include but are not limited to:
  • AR/AP Processing
  • Month End Close
  • Financial Reporting
  • Job/Product Costing
  • Budgeting/Forecasting
  • Support client pricing strategy conversations based on market comfort, cost modeling, margin expectations, and strategic business goals
  • Automate the completion of monthly/quarterly/yearly financial reporting for clients
  • Design, develop, and deliver training to the client as needed to ensure proper change management of initiatives
  • Work with project team to define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and deliverables
  • Execute project plan, report progress, identify and resolve problems, and recommend further actions
  • Delegate tasks to appropriate resources as project requirements dictate

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • (Preferred, not required) CPA license
  • Advanced working knowledge of financial models and associated analysis
  • Executive presence and ability to advise key stakeholders
  • Ability to interface with multiple other business functions (internally and externally)
  • Desire to build analytical competencies in others within the business
  • Curiosity to ask questions and challenge the status quo
  • Creativity to devise out-of-the-box solutions
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet client requirements (up to 4 days/week)
