ICEYE at a glance

ICEYE operates the world's largest synthetic aperture radar satellite constellation, selling all-weather, day-and-night Earth observation data and sovereign satellite systems to governments and businesses.

ICEYE designs, launches, and operates synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites, the largest such constellation in the world. It sells the resulting all-weather, day-and-night Earth observation data and analytics to insurers, governments, and businesses, and sells complete sovereign satellite missions to nations that want to operate their own intelligence capability.

Summary

Produce strategic intelligence assessments and finished intelligence products by synthesizing SAR data, IMINT, OSINT, and technical signals. The role involves analyzing defense, security, and geopolitical developments to support government policy and defense planning.

Job description

Role highlights:

  • Intelligence Analyst
  • Location: Berlin, Germany
  • Department: ICEYE Germany
  • Reports to: Head of Intelligence, ICEYE Germany
  • Employment type: Permanent
  • Workplace model: On-Site
  • Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)

Why this role matters:

Turn raw data into insight that shapes decisions at the strategic level - from geospatial signatures and signals to finished intelligence products that inform government policy, defence planning, and national security priorities. You are the analyst who connects the dots. Drawing on ICEYE's unmatched SAR constellation and your own multi-source tradecraft, you will produce assessments that go beyond what any single collection platform can reveal. You will synthesise IMINT, OSINT, and technical signals into coherent, well-argued intelligence products -written for senior decision-makers, not just operational consumers. Where our ISR operators execute collection at pace, you focus on depth: understanding the context behind what the data shows, anticipating what customers need to know next, and communicating it with precision and confidence.

Who We Are

ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.

ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.

ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.

Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

  • Produce strategic intelligence assessments. Research, analyse, and write finished intelligence products — from short-form updates to substantive assessments — on topics including defence and security developments, critical infrastructure, geopolitical risk, and environmental or humanitarian events. Products must be clear, well-sourced, and calibrated to the confidence level the evidence supports.
  • Exploit ICEYE's SAR data as a primary source. Interpret synthetic aperture radar imagery and change-detection outputs as a foundation for your analysis. Integrate ICEYE collection with OSINT, open technical signals, and customer-provided data to build a multi-layered intelligence picture.
  • Apply technical collection tradecraft. Bring depth from your background in IMINT, OSINT, SIGINT, or ELINT to enrich analysis with technical rigour — understanding what collection can and cannot tell you, identifying signatures, and recognising anomalies that non-specialist analysts would miss.
  • Maintain regional and thematic expertise. Develop and sustain deep knowledge of priority regions and topics for ICEYE’s customer base — tracking developments, building source networks, and keeping your analysis grounded in current context.
  • Contribute to analytical standards. Help define and uphold quality standards for intelligence products across the team. Peer-review colleagues' work, provide structured feedback, and contribute to the development of analytical tradecraft within ICEYE Germany.

What We Measure After Six Months

  • Within the first three months, analytical standards, product templates, and repeatable workflows are drafted and in active use. Your reports and product reached relevant users and key-stakeholders in private and public institutions.
  • A consistent production rhythm is maintained: weekly SitReps are delivered on time and to standard, and Strategic Assessments are produced at least monthly or on demand in response to customer requirements.
  • Finished intelligence products are rated high quality by the majority of customers who provide structured feedback: clear, well-argued, and decision-relevant, with no product requiring a major revision.

What we’re looking for

  • Analytical experience in intelligence production, geospatial analysis, open-source research, or a directly comparable analytical environment.
  • Imagery and geospatial tradecraft. Hands-on experience interpreting IMINT or SAR data, working with GIS platforms (QGIS, ArcGIS, or comparable tools), and drawing analytical conclusions from spatial and temporal change signatures.
  • Technical collection background. Familiarity with OSINT methodologies, signals intelligence disciplines (SIGINT/ELINT), or other technical collection approaches that complement imagery analysis and enrich multi-source assessments.
  • Strong analytical writing. The ability to write finished intelligence in clear, structured, jargon-free prose — calibrated to the customer's knowledge level and decision horizon. Experience with structured analytic techniques is an advantage.
  • German security clearance (Sicherheitsüberprüfung Ü2/Ü3) is valued. Eligibility and willingness to undergo clearance is expected.
  • Fluent professional English, with the ability to produce and present finished intelligence products in English. German language skills are appreciated.

Application Process

  1. Intro conversation with Talent Acquisition
  2. Hiring manager interview with Head of Intelligence, ICEYE Germany
  3. Analytical exercise: a take-home assessment task — multi-source scenario requiring a short finished intelligence product — presented and discussed live
  4. Final conversation with the CEO, ICEYE Germany
