  • Prepare and configure laptops for new employees, with an emphasis on macOS and Ubuntu systems.
  • Troubleshoot common macOS and Linux/Ubuntu issues, including disk unlock or decryption, boot failures, printing, software installation, and peripheral problems.
  • Support common employee applications and collaboration tools, including Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Track issues through resolution, communicate status clearly to users, and create or improve support documentation for recurring problems.

Office, Conference-Room & SCIF Technology

  • Troubleshoot Polycom and Microsoft Teams room technology, room schedulers, and A/V systems the organization relies upon.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot unclassified VOIP phone systems, including systems located within the SCIF.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and vendors when hardware repair, warranty service, replacement, or specialized support is required.

Systems, Lab & Linux Administration

  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based on-premises servers and systems in a shared lab/server rooms, including rack-mounted servers, connected storage devices, lab machines, and associated networking.
  • Perform routine systems-administration activities appropriate to the environment, such as system health checks, patching coordination, access support, storage monitoring, and issue triage.
  • Partner with technical staff on issues that require deeper infrastructure, security, cloud, or network expertise.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in IT support, desktop support, systems administration, or a blended support/administrator role.
  • Hands-on experience supporting macOS and Linux/Ubuntu endpoints; experience with Windows is beneficial.
  • Practical knowledge of laptop provisioning, software installation, basic account/access troubleshooting, printers, peripherals, and end-user applications.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Working knowledge of Linux administration and troubleshooting for workstations or servers.
  • Ability to explain technical issues clearly, prioritize competing requests, document work, and follow problems through resolution.
  • Ability to work on-site as needed to support physical devices, office technology, lab/server-room equipment, and SCIF-related unclassified systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting conference-room audio/visual systems, Teams Rooms, Polycom devices, room schedulers, or digital signage.
  • Experience with on-premises Linux servers, network-attached storage, lab environments, or small-office networking.
  • Experience in a government-contracting, cleared, engineering, or research-and-development environment.
