Job description
With multiple awards to our name, Larian Studios has proven that we’re dedicated to delivering high-quality role-playing games As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Junior Graphics Programmer to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and extend our proprietary engine's VFX systems (particle simulation, materials, post-process effects, rendering/lighting pipeline)
- Collaborate closely with the Art/VFX department to implement top-quality visual effects and grow our library of VFX components
- Debug and optimize code to meet quality and performance targets
- Document code features as you build them
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of C++
- Strong technical background (bachelor's degree or comparable experience)
- Clear communication skills, written and spoken, in English
- Enthusiasm for making and playing great games
- Proficiency with modern graphics APIs such as DirectX 12, Vulkan, or Metal
- Skilled in using CPU and GPU profiling tools to diagnose and resolve bottlenecks
- Solid grasp of particle system algorithms, including GPU-based implementations
- Strong command of shading languages, with a track record of writing complex GPU algorithms
- Comfort working with multithreaded systems
- Strong software design, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Comfortable collaborating with others and taking ownership of your work

- Experience shipping a game or console title is a strong plus
