ABOUT SCIENCELOGIC…

ScienceLogic is redefining IT operations for the modern enterprise. Our AIOps platform empowers organizations to achieve Autonomic IT — where systems are self-healing, self-optimizing, and seamlessly aligned with business outcomes. We help enterprises and service providers gain unified visibility across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, automate workflows, and unlock performance at scale.

We’re accelerating digital transformation through the power of automation, AI, and analytics — giving IT and business leaders the tools to deliver superior customer experiences, drive efficiency, and innovate with confidence.

Work Location: Hyderabad

What we're looking for...

ScienceLogic is hiring a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Engineering team in Hyderabad. This role will manage a ten-person team responsible for the infrastructure, systems, and test automation that our SkylarOne hybrid cloud monitoring platform runs on. You will report to the Director of Product Engineering (India), with a dotted line to the Sr. Director of Engineering (US), and you'll sit on the India engineering leadership team. This role is ideal for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys staying close to technical decision-making while building organizational scale. You'll provide leadership across platform modernization, reliability, and operational excellence while developing future team leaders and strengthening the team's management structure.

Who we are...

ScienceLogic scored a leadership position in the “Forrester Wave” AI Observability report. We are a global, growing software company reinventing the way companies manage their hybrid cloud data and systems by driving operational and business insights from the extensive data types contained in the SkylarOne data lake with AI.

What you'll be doing...

You'll lead a ten-person team comprised of full-time employees and contractors, covering the following day-to-day:

  • Owning technical direction and architecture for SkylarOne platform modernization, including OS migrations, cloud infrastructure, and system reliability.
  • Managing delivery across systems engineering, DevOps/test infrastructure, and networking, staying hands-on with design reviews, troubleshooting, and code/config review while delegating as the team grows.
  • Developing future leaders within the organization and building an effective management and technical leadership structure that supports team growth and scale.
  • Partnering with the QA Engineering Manager, the Solutions Engineering Manager, and India-based Product Owners to align platform work with product and quality roadmaps.
  • Owning hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development for direct reports.
  • Representing the India platform team in planning and reviews with Mahesh Hanumanula and other US engineering leadership.
  • Driving infrastructure cost optimization and rightsizing across on-premises (VMware) and AWS environments.
  • Participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and driving continuous improvement in system operations and release readiness.

Qualities you possess...

Must have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years leading engineering teams. People-management experience is required for this role, not a nice-to-have.
  • Demonstrated experience growing a team's structure, hiring into a growing org, and ideally building or mentoring a first layer of team leads.
  • A hands-on background in systems engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering: comfortable reviewing architecture, debugging production issues, and making infrastructure decisions rather than just relaying them.
  • Strong understanding of Linux administration, automation, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing) sufficient to guide a networking specialist on the team.
  • Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Terraform, Jenkins).
  • Comfortable operating across a matrixed reporting structure and collaborating with stakeholders in different time zones.

Good to have:

  • AWS experience or certification.
  • Scripting or programming experience (Python, Golang, or Bash).
  • Exposure to AI-driven development practices or AI coding assistants.
  • CCNA/CCNP or equivalent networking certification.
  • Experience with distributed systems or large-scale data processing environments.

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At ScienceLogic, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or any other applicable legally protected characteristics in the location in which you are applying.
