Job description

Why Deliveroo?

When you first think about Deliveroo, you probably think of getting great food to your house in less than half an hour. Awesome right? But behind the scenes is the story. This story is one of high growth, huge challenges and an enormous opportunity ahead of us.

We want to be the definitive food company - the app you go to any time you have a hunger pang. We are transforming the way people think about food. We are providing people with limitless access to different cuisines and restaurants, turning cooking from a chore to a choice, and giving people the freedom to eat what they want, when they want, where they want it.

The Role

Procurement's role is to support Deliveroo in the delivery of increased profit and growth through a well managed and sustainable supplier base

Reporting to the Head of Category, the role of Procurement Manager offers a rare opportunity to be a part of one of the fastest growing tech startups at a very exciting stage. You’ll be joining a team in early stages of maturity with big ambitions, already responsible for circa £650m of spend, and tasked with an Exec sponsored ‘Cost Out’ initiative in 2026/27. Our Procurement team operates on a hybrid model, which means that employees are required to come into the office twice a week. Our office is located in London, specifically on Cannon Street.

What you'll do

This is a Global role, operating from London HQ, which would involve multiple activity, including:

  • Develop and Execute Procurement Strategies: Create and implement procurement strategies that deliver value, cost savings, and operational efficiencies. Align these strategies with broader business objectives to support Deliveroo’s growth and profitability.
  • Supplier Management and Negotiation: Manage key supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts to secure the best terms. Drive continuous improvement and value creation through effective supplier performance management.
  • Risk Management: Conduct supplier risk assessments, manage third-party risk, and develop mitigation strategies to protect Deliveroo from supply chain disruptions, financial instability, or regulatory issues.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including competitive bidding, RFP/RFI processes, and supplier selection based on robust evaluation criteria (e.g., cost, quality, risk, and innovation potential).
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor supplier KPIs and SLAs, ensuring continuous improvement and accountability. Collaborate with suppliers to identify opportunities for innovation and enhanced performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with internal stakeholders such as Finance, Operations, Legal, and IT to ensure that procurement activities support wider business objectives and are fully aligned with operational requirements.
  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Lead contract negotiations, ensure contract compliance, and manage the contract lifecycle from inception to renewal or termination. Ensure all contractual terms and obligations are adhered to.
  • Drive ESG and Sustainability Initiatives: Support Deliveroo’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals by identifying sustainable procurement opportunities and driving ethical sourcing practices.
  • Process Optimisation: Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and drive efficiencies. Leverage technology and digital procurement tools to enhance sourcing, risk management, and contract management activities.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse spend data, market trends, and supplier performance to inform procurement strategies. Prepare regular reports to track cost savings, supplier performance, and risk management outcomes.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, with a proven track record of managing end-to-end procurement processes across various categories.
  • Strategic mindset: Ability to develop and execute procurement strategies that align with business goals and drive cost savings, operational efficiencies, and long-term value.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills: Proven ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers, manage relationships, and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance.
  • Proactive, outcome-driven approach: Ability to anticipate challenges, take initiative, and drive results that align with business objectives, ensuring successful procurement outcomes.
  • Risk management expertise: Experience conducting supplier risk assessments, managing third-party risk, and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work with internal stakeholders across departments (e.g., Finance, Legal, Operations) to ensure alignment of procurement activities with broader business objectives.
  • Experience with procurement technologies: Familiarity with procurement software (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, SAP) and digital procurement tools to drive process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Data-driven decision-making: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets, track performance metrics, and provide insights that inform strategic decisions.
