Humanoid at a glance

Humanoid builds commercially scalable, safe humanoid robots to automate labor-intensive industrial tasks in warehousing, logistics, and manufacturing.

Designs and builds general-purpose humanoid robots (the HMND 01 platform) that automate physical industrial tasks like goods handling, picking and packing, and kitting, orchestrated by an in-house AI fleet framework called KinetIQ.

Approximately $30M self-funded by founder Artem Sokolov; a ~$200M Series A was in talks as of early 2026 (not closed) raised · latest: Series A (in talks, ~$200M, no valuation set) as of February 2026 · backed by Artem Sokolov (founder, sole shareholder)

Job description

Here at Humanoid, we believe in a future where robots amplify human potential. That’s why we’ve set out on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. We’re bringing that mission to life with HMND‑01 - our rapidly developed humanoid platform being deployed in real industrial environments - and we’re growing the team to take it even further.

Location: Vancouver, Canada Employment Type: Full-Time, 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract Work Arrangement: On-Site

About the Role

We are looking for a Robotics Prototype Engineer to join our Vancouver team on a 6-month, full-time fixed-term contract, supporting the assembly, integration, testing, and validation of advanced humanoid robotic systems. You will work hands-on with robotic hands, arms, end-effectors, actuators, sensors, and complex electromechanical assemblies, helping bring new robotic designs from engineering concepts to functional prototypes. Working closely with our Mechanical, Electrical, Embedded Software, and Controls teams, you will support prototype builds, troubleshoot hardware issues, perform calibration, and contribute to continuous design improvements. This opportunity is ideal for an early-career or intermediate engineer who enjoys practical engineering challenges, wants to strengthen their robotics expertise, and is excited to learn from a highly experienced multidisciplinary engineering team.

What Makes This Role Exciting

  • Work hands-on with advanced humanoid robotic hardware, including dexterous hands, arms, actuators, and precision mechanisms.
  • Gain practical experience in robotic assembly, sensor integration, calibration, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with experienced robotics engineers across mechanical, electrical, embedded software, and controls disciplines.
  • Contribute directly to prototype development, testing, and continuous design improvements.
  • Build valuable experience in a fast-moving robotics R&D environment, working on real humanoid robots.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble and integrate robotic prototypes and electromechanical systems, including robotic hands, arms, end-effectors, actuators, sensors, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Support prototype builds, hardware integration, and system commissioning, following engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and validation of robotic components and assemblies.
  • Assist with sensor calibration and actuator commissioning, ensuring components operate according to engineering requirements.
  • Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Embedded Software, and Controls engineers to identify and resolve hardware integration issues.
  • Support rapid prototyping and design iterations, including mechanical adjustments, wiring modifications, component replacement, and testing.
  • Perform basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, using appropriate laboratory equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Record test results, assembly observations, technical issues, and corrective actions, maintaining accurate engineering documentation.
  • Support routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of robotic prototypes and subassemblies.
  • Provide practical feedback to engineering teams to improve assembly processes, component reliability, and prototype performance.
  • Maintain an organized and safe working environment, including proper handling of specialized tools, equipment, and sensitive robotic components.

We’re Looking For

  • 1–4 years of relevant hands-on experience in robotics, mechatronics, electromechanical assembly, hardware prototyping, or a related technical field.
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience assembling, testing, or troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Understanding of electromechanical components, including motors, actuators, sensors, wiring, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical instructions.
  • Experience with soldering, wiring, connectors, cable assembly, or other precision assembly techniques.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical and mechanical testing equipment, such as multimeters, power supplies, and precision measurement tools.
  • Basic understanding of sensor integration, calibration, or actuator operation.
  • Strong practical problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies and engineering methods.
  • Good attention to detail when working with precision components and complex assemblies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment.

What We Offer

  • Enjoy a modern Vancouver office environment with complimentary daily lunches, coffee, tea, soft drinks, and snacks.
  • Gain hands-on experience developing next-generation humanoid robots.
  • Opportunity for long-term career growth, with the potential to transition from a 6-month fixed-term contract into a permanent, full-time position.
  • Work directly with advanced robotic hardware and complex electromechanical systems.
  • Learn from a highly experienced, multidisciplinary robotics engineering team.
  • Contribute to real engineering projects, from prototype assembly through testing and validation.
  • Build valuable technical experience in a fast-paced robotics startup environment.
  • Join a collaborative, mission-driven team working at the forefront of humanoid robotics.
